What are the best faction rules you’ve seen in ttrpgs? Looking for good clever mechanics, story triggers, obligations and reward structures, rules for creation and leaders, and whatever else I’m missing. Lemme know!

It’s also got me thinking about how to do factional ttrpg play more constructively, what’s involved and the rewards for joining and aiding. I think that’s something that could be more firmly developed, and will be looking at what’s already out there and how it’s been done best.

It recently but thinking about it. I think there’s a lot of osmosis, just soaking up the setting and particularly liked the more day to day working life displayed particularly on Toshara, just the peeps going about their business, trying to make ends meet. I liked that most of all.

Power of Kroll, Tom Baker as the 4th Doctor, Six years old, absolute streaming tears of fear and couldn’t bear to watch, couldn’t possibly leave the room cause I had to make sure he managed to stop the horror somehow. I can still hear its shrieking gurgleroar. Perfection.

Can we just sacrifice him and call it even?

Like there’s the trailer, the phone calls, the bumbling, the door, the running down the street, the thing that popped, the thing that stuck its hand up, the girl, what happened to the girl, the puke guy, the elevator, the thing the like guy puked on, the dog, the ending, soooo much…

Purely by accident I have managed to watch all of the new Resident Evil via social media snippets and given I’m a lot more squeamish than I used to (The Thing at 11 did quite a number of young Jez) I think I’m ok with that. Though it does look awesome and I might watch it from behind the couch.

Character’s persuade skill to teach, and creature’s Perception or Knowledge to understand the lesson, starting out at Very Difficult and lowering the difficulty each time they train together, until both are successful and unlocks a cool trick ability.
