Part I of Soft Love, Learned Late is live now. The Absence of Soft Love begins with a picture of my mother at eighteen, a picture of myself I can remember but can’t find, and the kind of care I didn’t know how to name until later. Read the full essay on Substack.

Black History Month is about lineage — not myth. This week’s entry asks: What’s the difference between reform and liberation? New mini essay live. Both written and audio versions available.

Who Decided? is live on Substack. An essay about story as training, faith as architecture, and the myths that teach us obedience before we ever consent. Paid subscribers get the audio—one section a day for seven days. It ends with a question that breaks spells: Who Decided? Link in bio.

WASP 2.0 — the updated operating system of white supremacy. ICE isn’t the disease. It’s the symptom. Spoken word meets history, power, and resistance. This is just a taste. The full piece is on Substack. 🔗

Hi, I’m Jewels 👋🏾 I write essays & cultural reflections at Say It With Your Chest—where memoir meets critique (funny, sharp, but always honest). I’d love to connect with other writers exploring identity, culture, or just telling the kind of stories that make people pause. 👉https://bit.ly/jewelsfc

A young woman works at a hospital and picks up a set of scrubs to work in. There were none in her size, so she got a smaller size for the day. Her male Co-worker leered “You look like a young teen”. She fired back” you sound like a pedohile.” Men- this is not a compliment. Just be quiet.
