For day 8 I appear to have a tiny stargate.

I'm a bit behind with the Pico calendar but I got around to day 7 today. It's all about an analogue slider today, which I think wasn't quite as sensitive as the code suggested. Still works though. :)

I spent far too long trying to figure out why the second LED wasn't working in this exercise, to the point of completely reseating the LED and wires. It turned out I'd forgotten to add the actual code!

Dip switches today, which it turns out are incredibly fiddly. I learnt some interesting stuff about elif statements. #raspberrypipico

My Raspberry Pi Pico breadboard with its new DIP switch module. The switches are set to activate a pattern on the LED module.

Just got around to working through day 3 of the Pi Pico advent calendar. Buttons! They now make the LED flash and add or subtract integers.

Superman and Lois managed a perfect ending to a fantastic show. Easily my favourite on-screen Superman thing. It could so easily have been awful, but everything that could have ruined it (Clark's kids!) was perfectly handled.

I've treated myself to a Raspberry Pi Pico advent calendar this year. Day 1 was basic setup, but today I made an LED blink. Witness my power!

In rabbit news, one of our rabbits stopped using his hind legs a few weeks ago and we've been trying to nurse him back to health. We can get him using them again after a few days of medicine, but he slides back if we stop. :(

I've been catching up with Superman and Lois, which I still think is one of the best versions of Superman I've seen on screen. I'm going to miss it when it's gone.

Next up I might try and finish that other new game, FFVII: Rebirth.

After about 120 hours and months of play, I think I've finally passed the point of no return in Baldur's Gate 3. I've had to knock the difficulty down to easy for some of the tougher fights, but I think I'm ready for it to be done now.

Well it's been an interesting morning. My daughter has a temperature so can't go to nursery, and one of our rabbits seems to have a dodgy back. Luckily it's my work from home day but I'm not sure how much work is going to get done.

We said goodbye to our cat this week. :( The house feels so empty now. Goodbye Groot, you beautiful sofa hog.

EG has made @goneefk.bsky.social's (formerly subscriber-only) piece about role-playing as a medieval poet in Minecraft available to all, and it's a total delight – from the recording of the musical round to the absolute chef's kiss of a final-line pun. 👏👏👏 www.eurogamer.net/emmas-advent...

I became a medieval poet in Minecraft

It's a bard block life for Emma Kent, as she becomes an actual poet on a medieval role-playing server in Minecraft.

Eddie Gordo's arrived in Tekken 8. Tekken 3 has taught me this means I'm in for a terrible, terrible time. #tekken8 #videogames

A screenshot from Tekken 8 prominent lly displaying Eddy Gordo. The in-game text reads "Eddy Gordo is now available!"

Well there goes Deck Nine into the bin. I love the Life is Strange series but the studio sounds like it's run by some truly horrible people.

This is such a fantastically composed and historically meaningful final photo of Ingenuity, taken by Perseverence before it drove away, that I want to make it my phone background but also I don't want to cry every time I look at my phone screen. 🥺
