Today while reading about his passing I remembered reading Kane and Abel, and a few others… and thoroughly enjoying them. Opened up Libby and BorrowBox, but sadly a lot of his early works aren’t available on there. Reserved a few others which will available for me to to read late next week.

Amsterdam Schiphol used to have gates with over-the-wing bridges - they were suspended above a B747 wing, enabling passengers to board through a door further down the cabin.

Same applies for LATAM, they left oneworld when Delta invested in them. Even though they’re a founding member, Delta these days say that individual relationships & joint ventures are more beneficial to them than Skyteam.

China Southern previously stated they’re not interested in joining an alliance. For them lower cost (no alliance fees) & greater benefits come from individual relationships & joint ventures. So if that’s still the case, there is no “CX has vetoed them from joining oneworld”.

Aer Lingus won’t ever join an alliance. Each IAG airline has a very specific role to play - they’re a value carrier. Condor & Porter - not on the cards, it’s avgeeks that have said they’d benefit from joining oneworld. Saying that, would be nice to see a oneworld member based in Germany & Canada.

It’s been on the cards since 2018/19 when the CEO said they were evaluating each of the three alliances. Fast forward to the last week and reading about their linkup with both Qantas & Qatar Airways frequent flyer programs, I did ask myself “will the next bit of news be they’re joining oneworld?”.

Guess you missed reading the small print… the tag is just smoke & mirrors. Priority luggage handling isn’t a service that BA offer - the tag is nothing more than a decoration added to your bag. “Priority baggage handling is not currently available on flights operated by British Airways.”

All in-build planes are allocated a registration - those built in Germany start life with a German registration, those built in France with a French registration, those built in USA with a USA registration. Instead take 5mg or 10mg (or start at 20mg or 10mg then reduce the dose) of Promethazine Hydrocloride. It’s an antihistamine so your GP will be more willing to prescribe it than they will Zopiclone.

Stay away from the Z-named drugs!! You don’t dream when taking zopiclone because it doesn’t make you sleep - it’s more of an off switch. Your days will feel somewhat foggy. Incredibly easy to become dependent on them, incredibly difficult to stop taking them as your body forgets how to fall asleep.

Sadly programs that offer lifetime membership always fail to make it clear & obvious that it’s for ‘the lifetime of the program’, not the lifetime of the member. And T&Cs enable them to remove benefits with advance notice (usually 30 days). Check the T&Cs to determine what you’re supporting…
