The building shutting down until the next presidency is not really a loss since he's already forced anyone who'd be worth watching to run from the place. You're not going to get any of the programming it should have done because he already poisoned it. Let it stay shut.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the future they created with "the Burn" but the show is solid. I enjoyed it all.

The only thing I’d want is the spoon rest and I’m not paying $45 usd for a ceramic hand. This has been the long standing problem with trek merch, it’s always overpriced and totally random junk. These are basically the new Spock Helmet.

They told my ex learning to skate was the easy part. The hard part was learning to fall without getting hurt. She managed both. Congrats on your progress!

Thing is... those 10 mostly forgettable episodes and the 5 stinkers are where we learned the most about the characters and learned to love them even more in those 5 really good episodes. That's the real problem.. we don't get nearly enough time with the characters anymore.

Conclusion of Hollywood: Lets put these guys on making all the remakes and sequels that no one wants to see! That will surely make it a success not that audiences want NEW IP... surely that's not the case. *sigh*

Top Grossing movies by year (Rounded): 2005: $895m 2015: $2B 2025: $2.25B 2005 to 2015 saw a more than DOUBLING for every top 10 movie in gross. 2015-2026? Almost no change in gross. On top of that one of the top 10 from last year is an ANIME, zero Hollywood involvement and a NICHE audience.

000

jesterw00t @jesterw00t.bsky.social · 01/06/2026

My whole point has been don't mistake a couple of successful runs as 'thriving'. 2025 box office numbers compared to 2015 are nearly identical despite a decade of inflation. Compare 2015 to 2005 and the difference is staggering.

100

jesterw00t @jesterw00t.bsky.social · 01/06/2026

God for bid someone not share a point of view and try to argue a counterpoint that you can't actually thwart with a reasonable argument.

WE want to see trailers... we don't want to see the ads for coke or a dozen other random commercials that are now mixed in with the trailers. There's MAYBE 10 mintues of trailers in that 30 minutes of trash they shove in front of the movies.

000

jesterw00t @jesterw00t.bsky.social · 01/06/2026

As for Broadway, yes many people enjoy Broadway... the average person does not. That's a still niche audience.

000

jesterw00t @jesterw00t.bsky.social · 01/06/2026

You think your love of viewing things in a theater is a universal love. Its really not. You ask the average person and not a single one is going to gush about the crowds at a theater. They're going to complain about them. They're going to also complain about the price of a ticket.

200

jesterw00t @jesterw00t.bsky.social · 01/06/2026

You really want to go into COMMERCIALS?!?!?!? REALLY? Where theaters are now doing over THIRTY MINUTES OF COMMERCIALS. THAT is where you want to go with this? You can pay slightly more for HBO Max to have zero ads and still cost less than 1 movie at a theater.

100

jesterw00t @jesterw00t.bsky.social · 01/06/2026

Oh yeah because we haven’t seen that with every single production platform in existence? You can shit on Netflix for terrible choices that still doesn’t make a theater getting 3-6 hours a month of worth while content a better value.

100

jesterw00t @jesterw00t.bsky.social · 01/06/2026

Also don’t pay for Netflix every month. Take a six month break resin watch what you want for that month and dip out again. Paying every month for a streamer you don’t watch daily is a waste of money
