jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 14/08/2026Is this really the time for this? A man has died. Two young children have lost their father. Hang your head in shame. 110 1

jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 28/10/2025I think it’s because we are privileged enough to live in a time where giving birth is pretty safe. My mum used to be midwife and did a module on the history of women’s health as part of her degree. It’s absolutely necessary to understand the historical context to realise how lucky we are today. 100 1

jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 02/03/2025I agree with your point that those who went to private school are over represented in music in the UK but Charli has been a millionaire since her early twenties from Fancy and I love it. 000 0
jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 10/02/2025You’re ignoring my boundary of not having transphobes interact with me. What does that make you? 100 1
jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 10/02/2025Disappointed my former employer @theguardian.com continues to commission blatantly transphobic articles. Peggie likened Upton to a rapist for simply using a changing room her employer gave her permission to use. Here Sodha puts trans women and cross dressing sexual paraphilia in the same bucket. 100 1
jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 09/02/2025I also concede sensationalist headlines are part of the problem. This one is vague but not too bad but I have seen quotes from Liz Kendall on this matter being massively taken out of context and used in headlines. 110 1
jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 09/02/2025That’s fair enough. I just don’t think it makes the cohort of us who are critical of the current Labour government (me included) very credible if we start saying things like they are bullying disabled people with no basis. There’s enough things to criticise them on without doing that. 110 1
jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 09/02/2025I agree he’s a red Tory. I just find it strange that this particular initiative is getting backlash. But seemingly it’s because no one actually reads anything anymore! 110 1
jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 09/02/2025I’m also very suspicious of Starmers Labour but curious what in the article makes you think that? To me it sounds like they are planning to give MORE financial support to those who are disabled & want to work. I can’t see anything in the article that indicates they are planning to remove benefits. 000 0
jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 09/02/2025Because it says they are planning to give MORE support to people who are disabled and want to go back to work but scared about losing their benefits. 200 2

jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 25/11/2024Did you read the article? It’s not that palliative care isn’t available, it’s that it doesn’t work for everyone in all cases. 010 1
jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 25/11/2024No it wouldn’t. Pain relief does not work for everyone for a multitude of reasons. Read the article. You’re being naive. Dying is painful and scary even with the best pain relief possible. 000 0
jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 25/11/2024Pain management drugs don’t always work for everyone, for a multitude of reasons. There are also other symptoms it can’t resolve such as uncontrollable nausea. Read the article, it explains this. 060 6
jessrk.bsky.social @jessrk.bsky.social · 25/11/2024It is naive to think that everyone in palliative care slips away peacefully in the night. This is why I support assisted dying. It’s horrific how the terminally ill have been left out of the conversation. 040 4
