Jess Moses @jessmoses.bsky.social · 03/07/2025Looking for resources to refine my word problem instruction! My 3rd graders are largely multilingual and we support them in creating visual/symbolic representations that map onto equations. Having a hard time finding good books or articles for reference! #mtbos #iteachmath 100
Jess Moses @jessmoses.bsky.social · 19/05/2025Of course! We are big @triangleman.bsky.social fans. We have his books (BIG hit at family math nights) and use his images all the time! 020
Jess Moses @jessmoses.bsky.social · 19/05/2025Well this is just about the coolest thing I’ve ever seen! 120
Jess Moses @jessmoses.bsky.social · 24/02/2025It’s my favorite! And I found a great book - “Math Fact Fluency” - that I use to guide explicit strategy instruction and practice. 010
Jess Moses @jessmoses.bsky.social · 24/02/2025You made our day (year?)! We so enjoyed learning from you!! 010
Jess Moses @jessmoses.bsky.social · 24/02/2025We had SUCH a wonderful time learning from Mr. Andrew about clouds, precipitation, storm safety, and more! 030
Jess Moses @jessmoses.bsky.social · 01/02/2025How do you approach word problem solving with your students? Looking for strategies to support upper elementary multilingual learners in making sense of word problems and selecting appropriate strategies. Books, articles, ideas all welcome! #iteachmath 000

Jess Moses @jessmoses.bsky.social · 04/12/2024I love Mathigon’s multiplication and division fluency practice (Amplify recently bought it, but it’s still free to access). Also love the book Math Fact Fluency for strategies/games to support fluency development in elementary. I teach third grade! 141
Jess Moses @jessmoses.bsky.social · 15/11/2024In progress photos from yesterday, division day 1, in my third grade classroom! 120
Jess Moses @jessmoses.bsky.social · 15/11/2024Lesson 2 for the sort and 4 for the “these are _, these are not.” Always happy to chat quadrilaterals! 120
Jess Moses @jessmoses.bsky.social · 15/11/20243rd! The card sort is IM too. Both are Unit 7. We don’t love the facilitation structure but we DO love the activities. 110
Jess Moses @jessmoses.bsky.social · 15/11/2024There is a “these are _, these are not” (inc. multiple types of quads, drilling down to squares) in Kendall Hunt’s IM. We do an open card sort with quadrilaterals, then the “these are rectangles, these are not”, then a closed sort of rectangles/rhombuses/squares to chat overlap in categorization. 120
Jess Moses @jessmoses.bsky.social · 25/05/2024Anyone have any creative ideas for building fluency and automaticity with addition and subtraction? We’ve got a good handle on multiplication and division but find our third graders are getting hung up on making tens and twenties! Willing to try anything to support automaticity! #mtbos #iteachmath 330
