The way he's fanning out his suit jacket there, looks like he's having to vent out some of the trapped odor.

Since it's tainted money we thought the only moral recourse was to donate it to Janelle Stelson's campaign for PA-10. Scott Perry is pure scum.

Nobody gives AF. It's still Lake Ontario. He can take his EO and fit it snugly into his diaper.

Canadians, let us know how Americans can help. I'm vacationing there next week. I'll spend all my money!

I did not enjoy the film. The treatment of the story made it shallow and unremarkable and every moment inevitable and over-moralized. The adventure was like the adventure of a theme park ride, programmed, mechanical.

That's a good idea! Fetterman's 2022 social media team was so sharp. Very much unlike the candidate. ;)

Stopped trying how? He showed up to debate when Fetterman refused. When Fetterman did finally show up for one, Lamb wiped the floor with him. Didn't matter though, Fetterman had become a progress darling by then w/ his snappy social media team and lots of time on Rachel Maddow.

He didn't bow out. He just lost the primary.

I didn't say he was better. I never liked Fetterman, and *as I said*, I voted for Lamb. You asked why people didn't like Lamb so I answered your question. I liked him. I hope he runs again.

I voted for Lamb. A lot of blue voters were putting much weight on Bernie Sanders endorsement-the guy that also brought us Tulsi Gabbard. And they were being purists re: fracking. Lamb, being a rep of western PA, where fracking is a significant element of the regional economy, was conflicted.

I wonder if there aren't brief moments of awakening when guys like this feel some secret shame about how they publicly debase themselves for a person as squalid as Trump.

I look like this guy, I'm white, old, of European descent. My father was a US citizen by virtue of being born here of immigrant parents. Bet this dude doesn't have to go far back either. These hypocrite motherfuckers.

Even apart from sparse crowds & open green space (honestly, for me those 2 things would make me *more* likely to attend, not less), doesn't this just look SOOO boring? Like a weird half-built Lego village, all right angles & flat surfaces, plastic, & nothing distinctive or aesthetically appealing.

Aren't they missing the obvious? That more-left candidates were elevated by winning elections. They talk about the Dem party's tilt left, but it's not the party, it's the VOTERS. Their voters. Listen up, dudes.

Scott's hands are old an weathered, but not swollen and discolored like Trump's. It's actually a useful comparison to see them side by side.

I wonder if they'd be willing to cover their faces in public. Or if they'd relinquish independent property rights or individual access to credit. Or if they'd give up no-fault divorce laws. I mean, how owned, managed, and limited would they be willing to be?

It's not even on the shelf anymore at the B&N where I live, about 45 minutes from his hometown.

John Fetterman got $1M for his book. It sold 2600 copies in its first week, and zero at the Barnes and Noble in his hometown.

There are progressives in the House like this who are team players and also pushing forward a change agenda. But different places require different flavors of Dem candidate. They just need to work as a team. Hot-doggers like Fetterman and (I hope he's not one!) Platner can really fuck things up.

I guess, for me, as it pertains to candidates for legislative offices at this point in American history, I'm much more confident with people who put a high value on team play than I am with iconoclastic types. Executive offices, maybe I could see differently, but not members of a legislative body.

Yeah, he skipped the 1st primary debate, which seemed arrogant, then showed up for the 2nd one where he was so much less adept and articulate than Lamb and Kenyatta. Probably why he didn't do the 1st one. It seemed like he was running a campaign on vibe and a smart ass social media persona.

Jessie Mitchell @jessiemitchell.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
Thanks. The primary debate with the 3 of them was before he had the stroke by about a month. Maybe he did so badly because he was already experiencing brain issues prior to actually succumbing. But when I saw it, I felt like he couldn't win, but even after the stroke he did. Just never understood it

I have been wondering for a long time ... not challenging you, but curious, did you watch the primary debate with him and Lamb and Kenyatta? How could someone watch that and rationalize the inarticulate, fumbling non-answers when both the other candidates were so sharp?

Always a phony. You could smell it on him.

I'm in PA. I never trusted Fetterman, never. He always seemed dim, inarticulate, and posturing. Nonetheless, people fell for it. I'm not in Maine, and the whole Platner renegade shtick I generally find very suspect. However, Platner seems very much more intelligent than Fetterman ever did.

How is it we end up with the absolute stupidest people in elected office from conservative America? Could it be that the stupidest voters live in conservative America? Could that be because conservative news outlets have been working for decades on making them stupid voters?
000
Jessie Mitchell @jessiemitchell.bsky.social · 05/04/2026
I never trusted Fetterman, he never seemed to have talents and temperament for the job, even before the stroke, but he's a good lesson in the pitfalls of purity tests.
010
Jessie Mitchell @jessiemitchell.bsky.social · 05/04/2026
It's kind of quaint now to remember that progressives turned against Lamb over fracking. Seriously, for the Senate seat now affecting cabinet appointments, war, instutional grift, likely another Supreme Ct justice, and much broader environmental destruction than regional fracking in western PA.

I was so disappointed when my fellow PA Dem voters chose this egoistic asshole in the primary. I take some comfort in knowing most of them regret it now. He'll be gone at the end of his term... maybe before if we're lucky.

Yes, America definitely lost out there, and just by that quirk of the electoral college, but I take some pleasure in seeing the happy, productive, engaged life she has gone on to lead, and will continue to for a long time to come, fates willing. The country, however, yikes. We have been so screwed.

People who suffer from chronic pain but have not read the book may easily misunderstand his perspective, reducing it to "all in your head." That's not what he's saying. He's talking about this one particular component of pain, the brain's response to the stimuli, and how it might be harnessed.

You never, ever hear Republican electeds say that about their Democratic colleagues. Never. But for some reason Dems feel like they have to do this. I don't doubt there are legislators from different parties that get along w/ each other, but WTF with all the normalizing of these sycophantic ghouls?

Jessie Mitchell @jessiemitchell.bsky.social · 21/03/2026

I live in PA, I watched the primary debates. Fetterman was terrible, confused, dull witted. This was well before the stroke he suffered. We had a other, better candidates. Dems who supported him own this one. It was easy to tell he was a self-aggrandizing phony.
