I will use my knowledge of nutrition to help understand disease processes patients have. I can provide a baseline of knowledge and emphasize the importance of nutrition and inspire patients to prioritize healthy eating 🙌@beh353.bsky.social #beh353

#Dandelions are a wild food. The young spring leaves are a great green salad, and the older leaves are great when cooked or used as a pot herb. #DandelionDay www.canr.msu.edu/news/dandeli...

During finals week, I plan to meal prep lunches and ensure I drink plenty of water. I meal prepped last finals period and it helped a ton, took the stress off of worrying what I was going to eat. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Tom's story showed that navigating weight loss is a complex process that can be mentally tolling but can be achieved with small, consistent changes. He built a routine for himself found, motivation and stuck with it. Finding a support system is also important in his story @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

"don't judge a book by its cover"there are multiple reasons why someone is obese from health to financial reasons. In the video he says bullying doesn't solve obesity it only creates shame. We cant shame someone for their appearance when we dont know how they got there. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I relate to lack of time to shop, prepare or make healthy foods, staying on top of school work + my own job is a lot. Adding on meal planning can be put to the back burner. For example after a full day of class and I don't have a meal prepared I'll opt for fast food. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

www.healthline.com/nutrition/pl... This article discusses alternative protein sources. I think this is a good example of a popular press article because it was reviewed by a licensed registered dietician. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I looked into the carnivore diet, it is a form of keto, cutting out all carbs, fruits, veg etc. only eating animal products. This diet can cause increase in LDL and long term kidney function issues 😟 #beh214 @beh353.bsky.social www.health.harvard.edu/nutrition/wh...

This correlates with what we learned this week, how to add/ substitute foods in our day to day recipes and snacks for a more balanced and nutrient dense diet @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

for a more nutrient dense diet, my coffee order is a shaken espresso w whole milk and caramel. Instead of whole milk I'd opt for low fat milk and either try sugar free syrup or less pumps of syrup. Overall I could definitely find ways to incorporate more whole grains #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

I found it a bit hard to remember specifics of what I ate in 24hrs. Throughout each day I snack a lot so it was hard to remember what snacks I ate that day/how much. Dinner is my main meal each day. In the end I think it was somewhat accurate. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I love peanut butter and this ties into what we learned this week of the building blocks of food. A great food that provides both protein and fats! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

fun facts from lecture the week I learned is that carbohydrates are the only nutrient that is able to pass the blood brain barrier. Also that fats supply myelin sheath on nerve cells. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

What stood out to me was the importance of reading and interrupting data in studies despite what is written in journals due to the fact most publishing media's don'f fully read entire studies. Also how it's important to asses demographics involved in studies. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Hi everyone. I'm in the DMS program, class of 2026. I am taking this class to fulfill my elective requirement. A nutrition question I have is are artificial sweeteners good for you? To me healthy eating is strength. My favorite food is scallops. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
