I don't agree with all of @bostonglobe.com's endorsements, but they got this part right: "The primary election is usually the one that matters in Massachusetts. Don’t forget to vote." So please vote today! And join @yeson3ma.bsky.social so "the election that matters" is with the full electorate.

Great listen - @cwbeacon.bsky.social 's Codcast. Love that all-party primaries means no safe seats: "If you're going to have real competition in some way, you're going to try and encourage people to have to work hard to get your vote, then there has to be a risk that they might actually lose."

I sent in my mail-in ballot for the Democratic Primary. I was glad to see some competition for some of the races in my neighborhood -- but I know that is the exception, not the rule when nearly two-thirds of the seats in our state legislature have no real contest this year.

New MA data shows we're now 67% independent. Independents are generally younger, less wealthy, more diverse. Yet we force them to pick-a-party to vote in the primaries: no wonder we have such low turnout. Question 3 (@yeson3ma.bsky.social) would give them (and us) all the choices on the ballot.

Vote YES on 3! All-Party Primaries @yeson3ma.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
Massachusetts deserves better than uncompetitive elections and an inefficient state legislature. The State House belongs to We the People. Vote YES on Question 3 this November for fresh voices and more choices. ✍️ @gbhnews.bsky.social www.wgbh.org/news/politic...

Lack of competition in the Legislature could open the door for new primary rules
Year after year, voters have few options for who represents them in the state Legislature. This year is no exception.
