I agree that in addition to being a complete asshole, Alito is an objectively dumb person. But I also think he is by far corrupt enough to coordinate with the WH on timing. If anything it could light a fire under the Dems to make expanding the court non negotiable. There’s no other alternative.

Exactly right. With the all the focus on how extreme Alito and the other five are, it generally goes under stated just how mediocre and pedestrian their reasoning is, most often they don’t even make a legal argument. Turn in a college term paper that looked like their writings and you’d get an F.

Also, if you listen to SCOTUS during those oral arguments, they were all but telegraphing that they were ready to strike down the actual statutes in order to protect Trump if it ever got that far. The goal posts will move toward that end and Roberts left room for that as well. Total sham.

Problem is Roberts also made ANY communications between the President and his aides as inadmissible as evidence. So there is no way to prove any of Trump’s crimes official or not. Until this fraudulent SCOTUS is expanded, it is impossible to enforce any law when it comes to Trump.
