Added a new feature to our AI Fluency extension. It checks your past session history for skill files and MCP servers that are enabled, but haven't been used. They sometimes add a significant amount of token overhead to every session. github.com/rajbos/ai-en... #githubcopilot #usagebasedbilling

Two tips showing that the current Tools, Skills and MCP Servers are adding significant overhead, but haven't been used in the past months.

A more detailed overview of which MCPs are adding overhead.

I'm seeing some users having issues with @github.com copilot today. Turns out their "billing entity" isn't set in their user profile: If copilot usage is being blocked and you should be able to spend AI credits, check here: github.com/settings/cop... #usagebasedbilling #userlevelbudgets

The GitHub #Copilot Billing Preview tool uses your April 2026 bill as a baseline to predict the cost in the future. But... In many European countries, April is a month with many holidays, which changes how the costs are distributed across your users.

A table showing significant differences between per-user costs based on their pattern of usage. Some users remain pretty much the same (had spent tokens throughout the month). Some users see a spike, they likely spent most tokens at the beginning of the month, then went on vacation.

* we keep all models enabled for everyone (we probably won't) * copilot's usage of tokens stay's the same (it won't) * assuming out number of assigned licenses stays the same (it won't) At least this allows us to have a conversation with finance and leadership.

A chart showing the current cost in the PRU era (1x), the projected cost in the Promotional Period (3x without intervention, 2x with optimization) and the projected cost post promotional period (currently at 3.6x)

Ran the numbers for the new #Copilot Usage based billing across a couple of organizations. We're seeing an average 3x increase in spend during the promotional pricing period if we don't do anything. Upgrading all our users to Copilot Enterprise, can reduce the cost increase to roughly 2x.

I've always had this association with guitar hero when viewing really convoluted git histories. And today I turned that into reality :). Introducing: gh guitar-hero! Hard-fast is really only for the best typists I suppose ;). #github #copilot #vibecoding

Today we are witnessing the flight of ants. A few days ago Tits hunting lice. Months ago small solidary bees enjoyed the dandelions when few other flowers were available. Our first instinct shouldn't be to destroy, but to enjoy!

When searching for flying ant, the first results, including bing and google ai results are on how to extinguish. Often citing 'home remedies' and followed by poisons. Same for dandelions. Or garden mice, wasps, hornets, clover, lice spiders. Little on their use, beauty, importance. Change needed!

Walked 2 groups through GitHub Copilot Agent features in Visual Studio Code to show what the future of coding might look like. With that we contributed about 100 people to this World Record. And had a lot of fun while doing it. #AISkillsFest

Last week I had the privilege to attend the #mvpsummit on the Microsoft Campus in Redmond. A 10-year anniversary for me (12 if you count my 2 private invitations the years before). It's always great meeting friends, sharing stories over dinner and enjoying beers with friends.

Ha! Found it! Unpair the buds in Windows and Android. Hard reset the buds by infinitely holding down the button on the back of the case with the buds in the case. Re-pair the buds in Android, this will set the name. Then Windows, this will show the new name support.google.com/googlepixelb...

Had some issues with my Lenovo z16 webcam driver. The Realtek driver that's detected automatically often fails to initialize in Teams and causes issues with Windows Hello. Changing the driver to the generic Microsoft USB Video Device driver fixes these issues.

Got a set of google pixelbuds pro from a friend, and when I pair them in windows they still show up with his initials instead of my name. I can rename the device on Android just fine, but windows keeps his... Anyone know how I can reset this?

It looks like a lot of hashtag #android developers aren't aware that @github.com Copilot is available for their IDE. Android Studio is "just another @jetbrains.com IDE" and you can install copilot in a few simple steps! I've asked Copilot to tell you how ;)>

Last month we set up GitHub's new billing experience, including Cost Centers for Xebia's Enterprise. As part of that we needed to assign GitHub Organizations (easy), Repositories (not needed for now) and Members to the different internal Cost Centers.
