I will keep the bot around in case the API pricing changes, but otherwise I would suggest following the posts via @awscmblogposts.bsky.social, an RSS reader or any other platform you prefer.

Since the end of April/May, when the pricing change happened this would have started to cost me about $ 30 a month to keep it going. In my opinion the X API for posting content with a link (which all blog posts are) has been made extremely expensive.

I took a dump from the dynmodb table and exported all entries to json. It turns out that since 2022 (when I started the bot) a total of 6692 blogposts have been published by the AWS community builders over at dev.to/aws-builders/. What an amazing number of posts!

I've been pondering what to do with the @aws_cb_blogs bot on X. With the X API price changes to on-demand pricing in Apri/May I've stopped the bot from posting as I found it becoming too expensive for a hobby project. Let's take a closer look in this thread. #awscommunity

AWS has also removed a log4j patch from the Java 25 runtime to restore optimal performance. This was implemented when Log4shell hit the industry and was in all previous runtimes.

If you deploy Java 25 functions using container images, you can either implement your own AOT caches or continue using CDS.

Lambda’s benchmarking results show that AOT caches deliver faster cold start performance compared to CDS. 🚀 AOT caches are now enabled by default in the Java 25 runtime to provide performance benefits.

AWS Lambda replaces the traditional Class Data Sharing (CDS) with ahead-of-time (AOT) caches. This is an advanced optimization feature from Project Leyden that is designed to improve application startup times and reduce memory footprint.
