I need to find a better way to organize my handwritten notes (my preferred note taking method). This is just from this year. Used to have a whole box of them that sadly burned up in a storage shed fire that had notes from the start of my career.

There is a real-time crime center convention in Phoenix this week. Jen2Cents over on Twitter first found it. The convention has since removed the agenda which included a whole host of LE agencies giving a variety of talks about surveillance tech and touring each others facilities. A 🧵

Military contractor Lasai Aviation (contracts with the Army on intel, surveillance and recon missions) aircraft flying the Texas border right now. This bird has flown all over and from photos look likes it has geospatial mapping tech installed which would make sense considering the flight path

Even local Az Dems can fall for the MAHA misinfo. There is literally nothing wrong with GMOs. We've been genetically modifying food for as long as we've been growing food. Kinda how farming and genetics works. Maybe be more worried about how the Super El Nino could cause insane food shortages?

As noted in the story. The Real ID Act of 2005 makes things a bit more complicated.

The Real ID Act of 2005 made a number of sweeping changes in regards to immigration in the United States and was passed as a reaction to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

That law allows the Department of Homeland Security to waive certain federal laws when it comes to border security.

“Under a normal situation, the presence of two endangered species would allow the Fish and Wildlife Service to make a call of jeopardy,” Bogan said, referring to the department’s ability to stop certain activity that would jeopardize an endangered species. “That is what would happen in a normal world situation. But on the border, because of the Real ID Act and some of these acts that were passed post-9/11, the federal government has the option of waiving any environmental and cultural laws in the name of border security.”
