Will be curious to see how many thousands of copies of this upcoming book folks like Harlan Crow (or, heck, the DHS knowing this administration) are going to buy to line the pockets of the sock puppet Supreme Court jurist.

They were so busy coming up with a poster of Fani Willis looking all evil and shady that it never even occurred to them that, with the seat info, they probably could have gotten a TV still of Smith at the Hawks game - same way folks rapidly got a TV still of Smith at the Hawkeyes game.

Oh man, back when dept stores had fancy restaurants. I forgot. Slightly more charming than delivery in a corrugated cardboard box. But, glad things are less segregated, and hope we keep headed in that direction.

In another context, of course. This was when the FCC was all over Kimmel post Kirk.

Sadly, even Ted Cruz has something constructive to say on this subject:
No government official—regardless of party—should be engaged in jawboning. The First Amendment is not about opinions you agree with. It’s not about opinions that are right and reasonable. The First Amendment is about opinions that you passionately disagree with and the right of others to express them. I am one who agrees with John Stuart Mill – the best solution for bad ideas, for bad speech, is more speech and better ideas. We don’t need to use brute force to silence them because truth is far more powerful than force.

They should bomb ‘em back to the stone ages. Works every time. Just ask the architects of the wildly successful US war in Vietnam.

Funny how one day the GOP is all up in arms about the Feds (ie Smith) coordinating with GA (ie Willis), and now the GOP thinks that sort of cooperation is the greatest thing since sliced bread. What caused that change?

Fun Fact: Army says you can put any (or no) religion on your dog tags. You can say you’re Druid or Jedi, says Army. www.army.mil/article/1230...

What's on your dog tag?
For Soldiers, what to put on their dog tag for religious preference is serious business, because spirituality is important.

The real story is Schmitt doesn’t care about the truth and is just making crap up to whip up a conspiracy. That’s the MO here for the guy from MO.

Jermonter @jermonter.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
It’s odd to quote staffers telling nonsense retcon lies about how ‘of course Schmitt didn’t know what game that’s why he was asking’. The question was about a specific Hawks game and Schmitt pre-made a poster with Willis on it and said Smith had already perjured himself. That’s no honest question.

Casting him as Violet Beauregard in the next Willy Wonka. He’d crush that full meal gum.

Right!!!! He was incessantly chewing gum with an intensity reminiscent of Violet Beauregard sampling the full dinner gum in Willy Wonka. It was so odd. What grown up does this at work, on TV? Doesn’t he have media advisors? Is it a “bit” bc he did go to a lot of fancy schools and I assume is smart.

Current administration goes bonkers when local law enforcement DOESN’T cooperate with Feds/ICE on immigration enforcement. Yet here: if Willis and Smith had coordinated, it would have been bad?

No amount of text vetting is saving you from jumping to an erroneous conclusion not factually supported by those texts. Even IF Smith went to a Hawks game? So what? (And why is it bad for state and fed law enforcement to share notes when investigating the same crime (election interference)?

To tie this to a current moment: if Sen Eric Schmitt had written out his thoughts yesterday: (eg - A) Jack Smith went to an NBA game in ATL; B) Fani Willis works in ATL; C) [lorem ipsum]; D) Smith is a dirtbag), then Schmitt would have seen that part C needed a lot of work still.

FWIW: it’s the US Marshal service. One L. (The two L spelling is for proper nouns like the Marshall Islands.) Small point, I know. A bigger point, as noted, is how the ppl who are threatening Jack Smith and fomenting hate have access to texts from the ppl protecting Jack Smith from that hatred.

Just like all those brainiacs that bet their firm’s and their clients’ money on credit default swaps insuring against problems with subprime mortgages. Only now instead of the economy we are talking about AI running critical infrastructure and weapons systems. What could go wrong?

FWIW: to amend the US Const: 2/3+ vote of both the House and Senate, then 3/4+ of the states approve. It’s essentially impossible under the current climate.

I’m old enough to remember days of news coverage when ex prez Bill chatted up AG Lynch while HRC email probe ongoing. I guess the proper protocol then was to have Chelsea chat up the target about a $10b “investment”.

Read any book about the 1800s. It’s chock full of moms dying in childbirth and all sorts of ppl dying (often very young) all the time of “fevers” etc that no one even understood. Death everywhere all the time. I’ll take our modern health care system, as whacked-up as it is, every single time.

Does AI industry enjoy same sort of immunity from consequences afforded to gun industry under the “Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act”? Sort of opposite of “guns don’t kill people, ppl kill ppl”. Hey man, *we* didn’t illegally hack your systems, that AI thing over there did it. Talk to it.”

Just joking. Putting data centers in a hot dry desert is insane. Putting them in a cold place is a least slightly less insane given the HVAC they require. Ideally, if + to extent we need data centers, we put them where ppl are OK with it and they don’t overly tax already strained natural resources.
010
Jermonter @jermonter.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
Beejesus. If taking over Greenland had an actual purpose, I would suggest we park whatever data centers are actually needed on the extreme north end there where I assume it’s already cold AF most of the time.

And the check number (prob 1st and maybe only check written on acct). Given the level of enforcement, though, they prob could have just called the LLC “Widows and Orphans Making Illegal Contributions to Collins LLC”. It is bizarre that the donor got 33 months in prison and Collins got $150k.

I think weird. The wrinkle here: Hunter pardoned and can’t take 5th whereas Jr can take 5th. So this could be performative or just a way to shine light onto HB again.
010
Jermonter @jermonter.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
He wants to call Hunter Biden too. IDK. HB was pardoned so I believe he can’t take 5th? DJTJr not pardoned so would (assuming he even showed up) take 5th. Odds of DJTJr getting a pardon on or about 1/2029 are 100%, I think. Investigation (absent senate flip in ‘26) would prob be nothing burger.

US does same for Ukraine (ie, provides satellite intel so that Ukraine can target Russia). So, this is not super shocking. Is the difference that there are preexisting global sanctions on Iran? Bc otherwise both are basically just defending against illegal uses of military force.
