I spoke to Jeremy Slater about having a sole writing credit for the first time on Mortal Kombat II, getting the sequel right, and much more. It’s a fun conversation and goes to a lot of interesting places. Give it a listen at Awards Radar: awardsradar.com/2026/05/08/i...

How about a little detour this week? Writer Jeremy Slater takes a break from plugging Mortal Kombat II to talk about Joe Hill's epic horror tome KING SORROW. Evil dragons, complex characters, a killer sequence on an airplane, and ample nods to Hill's writer family. What's not to love?

Also, my friend Dave Yarovesky has a new movie in theaters this weekend, starring Bill Skarsgard and Anthony Hopkins. I’ve seen LOCKED twice now, and it’s a twisted blast. The trailer is below, but it’s really best to go in completely cold. You’ll dig it, I promise. youtu.be/VAaqF55xUHM?...
