Before I moved to Melbourne, I looked around the net to see if I could find anything interesting going on with shakuhachi. I discovered that there was one guy--David Brown--who was making beautiful wooden ones, and not only that, he also taught aikido. Based on […] [Original post on jeremy.org]

I have been working on some knuckle rollers, to be made via metal printing. Here's the latest, the Ouroboros. #knuckleroller

This is my most inappropriately shelved book, in with some of the vegetarian cookbooks. What's yours?
a bookshelf with a bunch of vegetarian cookbooks and one that isn't. (it's called _History of the Donner Party_)

#pluslife friends... this result came back negative, but to me it looks like testing the same person in a day or so might turn positive, so caution is warranted. what do you think?

Second print. Case is nice and sturdy now but PCB still doesn't fit.

First test prints. Case fit together but far too thin, and needs a fit adjustment before it'll fit the PCB.

I watched Inception today for the first time since it came out. I'd forgotten that it featured (at least) two items designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh! One of them was this lamp, which I may have spent some time today modeling in OpenSCAD in preparation for making one for the house.

any of y'all know how to get #orcaslicer to NOT generate support that doesn't touch the build plate when it's inside a support enforcer block? been banging my head against this (which is a #shakuhachi of course)

I'm looking at some #pluslife results that aren't like any I've seen before. It read as negative but the scarily red item #6 is exhibiting new-to-me motion that seems like it might be concerning. Look familiar to anyone? (I also have the .json data if that might be useful.) #virussucks

Chard harvest. This was probably about 2/3 of the total quantity. Note: I'm not the garderner, just the gardener's partner :) #gardening #melbourne

For the record, I would like to point out that (a) it was a Van Dyke, not two days of beard, and (b) it was a skirt, not a dress. #apple
Back cover of Gil Amelio's book _On the Firing Line: My 500 Days at Apple Computer_

One section reads:

ON THE DRESS CODE AT APPLE:

"My own eye-opener about clothing style came a little later when I encountered a
young Apple engineer who was wearing two days of beard, and a dress. Though I made it a point not to comment, the story flashed through the company that I had asked, 'Is this a dress-down day?' and had been told, 'No, he's dressed up.' At least the Apple sense of humor was intact.

Yesterday I got a shipment of septum tusks from the outfit that did the casting for me. I did the design/modeling in #OpenSCAD. I'm pretty happy with them!
a bunch of silver tusks on a black counter, with a hand giving scale. you can see the spruesthe same tusks, now somewhat inexpertly polished and held in a handme wearing one of the tusks. you can see the outline of the eye protection i was wearing to do the polishing.
