Otherwise, it’s always good to have enough side quests in the same project, so if you get stuck on something you move to some other thing.

I knew exactly what I was building so already prepared the main boilerplate of the project, had a couple of MDN pages and other documentation in some tabs. And having a sharp memory always helps.

I just coded on a plane. No internet. No agents. Had tons of fun. Highly recommend.

It’s unbelievable how GitHub became unusable this year. I have been waiting long minutes for a pull request page to just open.

When you haven’t done your homework on how privileged you are, anything slightly inconvenient looks like a threat.

Not that the world was awesome a decade ago, but folks I do miss it.

Just realized I left comments on a PR to adjust voice and tone on a piece of documentation written by agents, that most likely won’t be read by humans neither, and it made a *petit* more depressed.

Joy is definitely running low, folks.

Porffor is such an underrated project. Just-in-time compilation works great for browsers, but makes little sense for servers, we would benefit a lot from this level of optimization.

Oh hand-coding, like grandma used to do programming 🥹

We can agree on that.

“One famous writer from Argentina said once he liked more English, so English is the best language ever” is one of the worst takes I read.

jeremAIas @jeremias.codes · 18/08/2026
English being the most expressive language just because Borges liked it is probably one of the worst takes I read in a while, extremely US centric take too. I say this as an Argentinian who read Borges and has Cambridge English Language certifications. Borges was a great writer with terrible takes.

Thanks for the pointer!

jeremAIas @jeremias.codes · 10/08/2026
Same here. It could be using the dispose method pointer as key, or maybe coding without syntax highlighting.

That is a UX smell for me, you don’t know *why* users clicked on the light option while being on light mode. Maybe they do want to lock it there for the time being.

Three values. Always. The other one has the problem of masking the third state (system) which once manually set by the user is impossible to reset to.

I am not, but that’s alright. At least I don’t work for the Washington Post.

If you have them ready as static files, and the quality of the file is good, no downsides. You reduce heavily the transfer size and server cost.

jeremAIas @jeremias.codes · 15/07/2026
I recommend adding a redirect at server level when “Accept: text/markdown” header is present to your site. That does the trick for a lot of agents, they don’t have to parse and read the html at all.

jeremAIas @jeremias.codes · 15/07/2026
If done correctly, it definitely helps. It’s mainly a performance improvement, agents get faster to the info they are looking for. I recently did a lot of optimizations like that for @supabase.com docs.

I mean, I am not surprised, the world is going backwards on basic human rights.

jeremAIas @jeremias.codes · 21/06/2026
With liquid glass I am seeing so much regression in user experience. Some apps now require you to scroll or do some weird quirks to show you navigation items. Can’t believe we are going backwards on such basic stuff.

Everybody knew what those layoffs because “we are more productive with AI” actually meant. This is the result. This is the reality, and reality it’s inescapable.

Sorry, but when open source projects are acquired by companies I prefer to remain skeptical until proven wrong.

The problem is approaching each part of your architecture (state management, assets, animations, interface, etc.) with *that* mindset doesn’t leave you with 50kb more. It ends in chunks of megabytes in size.

I miss the times when companies' developer conferences were developer conferences. Now they are announcements just to keep shareholders steady. Sad and boring times.

Just watched the first version of @jsheroes.io after movie from this year, and all I can say is the video team we have is beyond amazing. Just wait for it.

If I self-host my bsky account posts, does it mean I can go an edit them? 🤔 I really hate typos.

Hard agree. It is something I’ve been doing more and more. If you see a talk, an article, a course, a project you liked please say it. You have no idea the effect it has on creators, especially in these times when it feels there’s a void that swallows anything that is creative and human.
