I use a pivotel dispenser, it is programmable has an alarm and a light that goes off when you need to take your meds and the alarm only stops when you tip them out... Excellent invention, but a bit spendy.

I had no idea that the fictionalised life of Laura Bush could be so utterly compelling. Great read! #books #amreading #booksky But #whatsnext? Recommendations anyone? Literary fiction, eclectic, thought provoking...

I wasn't feeling great today. Migraine, PEM, balance, boring stuff. Picked up Elena Ferrante, The Story of A New Name, and haven't put it down all day. Fantastic #book. Indulgent to just #read and read and keep #reading...

Time to read this. But what I really want to know is if there anything that can be done to counter and dissipate the momentum of epidemics.

I counted five hedgehogs in my garden this evening. Two tiny ones. Word must be out that there is food here. Haven't got a group photo as they seem to be independently minded. Leave food and water out, you might be saving a few little hoggy lives as the ground is so hard the cant get worms.

I'm trying to keep things less than bone dry here, putting the sprinkler on for an hour in the evening, and feeding the hedgehogs cat food, because there are no grubs or insects for them to eat.

Life at #Snodhill This is the hedgehog. He looks healthy but he shouldn't really be out and about so early. He joins the humpback rat (also out in the day)and the one legged pheasant as some of the wildlife that seem to depend on me at the moment. To be honest I could do without a humpbacked rat.

Yesterday, if you remember was the plant sale in the village hall, and I was out of the house for all of an hour. Came back with all manner of lovely things now sitting in their pots waiting to be replanted. Today? Body says, No!

I shouldn't worry really, my house is surrounded by fields and meadows and hedgerows and brooks... I probably live in a ecologically rich place - apart from the damage being done to the River Wye from the chicken shed waste which is over the ridge in the next valley over.

I know a hen isn't like a dog, or a cat, you don't get cuddles or loyalty or obedience, you do get quirkiness, side eyes and idiosyncrasies that come from a tiny brain hard wired as a dinosaur. But I am going to miss my last remaining hen. She has always been a beauty And now she is off to the vet 🔪
