This is me at three years old, the youngest of seven kids, already fiercely independent and standing my ground. That same determination drives me today. I know what it means to work hard, speak up, and fight for what matters. Let’s do this, Riverina! #rolfeforriverina #RealRepresentation

Infrastructure isn’t just about roads, mobile phone towers, or water pipelines. It’s about connection, safety, and opportunity. I’m committed to fighting for the infrastructure our communities need, not just for today, but to future-proof our regions. #rolfeforriverina #RealRepresentation

That’s a wrap on the first week of pre-poll. Places I’ve been in the past week: ✅ Yass ✅ Adelong ✅ Tumut ✅ Wagga ✅ Young ✅ Cootamundra ✅ Junee ✅ and a few spots in between. Real representation means being on the ground, showing up, listening. As an independent, I’ll always prioritise Riverina.

Small businesses are the backbone of Riverina’s economy and the soul of our communities. I’ve listened to small business owners across Riverina, and this policy position is shaped by what I’ve heard. #rolfeforriverina #RealRepresentation #smallbusiness #auspol

I’m not here to play politics. I’m here to represent our community. I’ve chosen not to do backroom preference deals because I believe in staying true to my values and putting people before politics. If you believe in honest, transparent, independent representation, put me #1 on your ballot.

It was pretty special to step off the campaign trail today to observe Good Friday and spend the afternoon with family at the Bidgee Strawberries and Cream’s annual Easter egg hunt. What a fantastic event - well done to everyone involved.

One of the unexpected bonuses of running in this election is getting to meet people like Bec, a regenerative agriculture farmer. A big thanks to Bec and neighbour Nick for taking time to take me around the farm and sharing your knowledge, stories, and vision.

How many more lives need to be shattered before the Barton Highway upgrade is treated as a priority? I don’t care who forms government—if elected, I’ll work to represent Yass Valley and the people of Riverina to make sure the Barton Highway gets the upgrade it desperately needs. #rolfeforiverina

The draw for the Riverina electorate is done! I’m number 12 out of 13 candidates on the ballot and 12 is where it’s at! 12 eggs in a carton 12 inches in a foot 12 zodiac signs 12 disciples 12 days of Christmas Coincidence? I think not. Iconic. Easy to remember. Hard to beat. #rolfeforiverina

Many residents in Riverina have told me about the stress created by rising energy bills, and the need for us to balance care for people and planet along with building capacity for generating the energy we need. We need solutions that create #energysecurity now.

There are two key questions Riverina residents have been asking me: 1. Who will you support if there's a hung parliament? 2. Who will get your preferences? Here’s part 1/2 of my (detailed) answer to the first question.

Our campaign is all about community - and so it was perfectly fitting that our very first “official” engagement after the election was called was to spend time with local families at the Coursing Park Tennis and Community Centre. What an amazing crew of people! Thanks Taryn for organising.

I’ve spoken with families across Riverina who can’t access local, affordable, appropriate childcare for all of their children. I’ve also heard from experienced early childhood educators who are among Australia’s lowest paid workers. It’s time for better childcare especially in the regions.

Think Riverina is a “fairly safe” seat? Think again. The margin is only 9.7% and if the community wants change, the community can make change happen. Watch the clip here: x.com/theausinstit... Read the analysis here: theconversation.com/australias-e...

Did you catch the budget reply speech tonight? The absence of strong economic leadership and the reluctance of the major political parties to address the structural budget deficit through effective tax reform is deeply frustrating. We can’t keep kicking this can down the road - we need action now.

041

Jenny Rolfe for Riverina @jennyrolfe4riv.bsky.social · 25/03/2025

Another observation from the budget. The lowest marginal tax rate will reduce from 16% to 15% on 1 July 2026 and then 14% on 1 July 2027. This will impact the tax effectiveness of super for lower income earners, yet there’s no adjustment in the LISTO or super tax rate.

031

Jenny Rolfe for Riverina @jennyrolfe4riv.bsky.social · 25/03/2025

This is what a structural budget deficit looks like in a graph (thanks ABC News), projected out over coming years. While the budget provided modest tax cuts from 1 July 2026, it didn’t deliver the tax reform we needed to see and 1 in 3 big companies will still pay no tax. How is that fair?

020

Jenny Rolfe for Riverina @jennyrolfe4riv.bsky.social · 24/03/2025

The current government will hand down the 2025 Federal Budget tonight. As an economist working in financial education, I love budget night but we have a structural budget deficit and need tax reform to take the burden off individuals, families, and small businesses, and future proof our nation.

Energy security is a hot topic across the Riverina electorate. Solar, wind, hydro, transmission lines, coal, nuclear, the list goes on. I’ve been listening to locals. Renewables are an essential part of ensuring energy security into the future, and protecting our natural resources is also vital.

In a democracy, elections should be about the contest of ideas. My vision is for a nation where every single person is valued and has the opportunity to thrive - regardless of postcode, or background, or circumstances. These are just some of the things we need to talk about. #rolfeforriverina

Jenny Rolfe for Riverina @jennyrolfe4riv.bsky.social · 10/03/2025

We don’t have the budget for a campaign office or shopfront or car wrapping (yet!) but in the meantime I’ve put our trailer, a couple of corflutes, and some cable ties to good use. 😊 Democracy shouldn’t be for sale. It belongs to us, not just people and parties with deep pockets and donations.
