Visiting APT-Sepsis study site in Malawi. Staff told us that implementation of a bundle to prevent, detect and manage maternal infection has led to a dramatic reduction in cases of post-CS peritonitis, a devastating condition often requiring hysterectomy #sepsis @catrionawaitt.bsky.social

We found a high burden of maternal death following CS in this low-resource setting, particularly related to infection. Multiple health systems factors contributed.There is urgent need to develop and trial interventions to improve the safety of CS in such settings #maternalhealth
