Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 19/09/2026The point I was working towards was that the northern accent is important. It signifies that the 75% of citizens who have felt excluded for decades as a result of geography now have a PM who is from them. I think it’s a mistake to underestimate that representation. 000

Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 11/09/2026This is what happens when privileged people’s privilege is marginally reduced. Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 09/08/2026Me neither… I’m making the point that it’s a stereotype that women read romance. Some women read romance. Some of us like sci-fi, thrillers etc. I’m sure some men like romance too. 010

Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 09/08/2026There’s plenty of research showing that (despite women being the biggest market sector) editors rejected books aimed at women and girls because boys and men wouldn’t read them. Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 04/08/2026It takes two sides to create a dispute. I’m Not hearing any acknowledgement that moving 7million people into a space that housed a different 7million might create competition for resources and that might lead to tensions. I don’t see Israeli’s sharing nicely either 020

Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 03/08/2026Media coverage that is not followed by resources doesn’t feel authentic. Like getting offered a new job title but no pay rise. 000
Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 03/08/2026I would argue it is the duty of non-fraudulent politicians and political communicators to make much more of an effort to notice and care for all citizens of the country than they seem to have done. People are exploited when those who should be paying attention are not. 100

Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 03/08/2026It doesn’t matter! What matters is that there is no point having an MP who seems to know nothing about your life and struggles. You can argue with me all you like, but you’d be better off reading some novels or memoirs about growing up in poor and marginalised communities. 100
Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 03/08/2026It doesn’t matter if he does or doesn’t. What matters is people feel like he does. And Labour, Tories and LibDems have failed to persuade large parts of the population that they represent them. Because they don’t. Because they are largely urban and university educated and comfortably off 101
Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 03/08/2026They think Farage sees them. Thats what he does. He draws attention to them. He gets people who have no idea they exist to acknowledge they do and start to ask questions about their lives. 100
Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 03/08/2026Maybe. The coastal towns have been very badly treated for decades. They combine economic decline (tourism and/or fishing) with similar problems to rural communities around transport & services. Eg take a look at how hard it is to recruit teachers, dentists in places with few jobs for spouses. 100
Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 03/08/2026The fact that so many people have no idea what life is like for so many of their fellow citizens is exactly why places like Clacton vote as they do 200
Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 03/08/2026So, is there a way that millions of people could have arrived and settled in a fairly small country without displacing the existing population? It seems that the tensions were foreseeable to anyone who cared to look. 000
Jennie Jordan @jenniewren.bsky.social · 02/08/2026The disabled and poor should be put to work in less than minimum wage fake self-employment to cut the benefits bill. Nevermind that 14 years of Osborne’s austerity proved that didn’t work 000
