Filling out paperwork for my kid at @nationwidekids.bsky.social and spotted a checkbox that said something like “Check here if adopted and no biological information is known.” My whole life of being adopted and filling out forms, I’ve never seen anything like this - wow I was THRILLED. People who talk about “student behaviors” as if they’ve magically declined without addressing any of the structural inequities in/around education get a side-eye from me. “Student behaviors” is a dog whistle used to justify mistreatment of children from marginalized backgrounds.
