Last week's story in Androids & Dragons was something a little bit different in that it's not TRULY speculative. It's main characters only wish it was. This one's a hilariously entertaining read. #writingcommunity androidsanddragons.substack.com/p/into-the-p...

Into the Pendragon's Lair

We went through it in 2007 to 2008. Some consulates were pretty slow, but I think for most people, it was under 2 years. I'm sure it is much worse now.

I mean, if the idea is that the whole thing happens in 90 days, that was never reality.

000

Jenna Rain H M @jennarainhm.bsky.social · 07/09/2025

To be fair, it was ALWAYS a very time-consuming process, although how much time depended on which US processing center you went through for you I 129 F (Vermont was faster than California) and which consulate for the actual visa. Ours took about 8 months.

Today's new story offers a fun twist on some classic fantasy tropes as seen through the eyes of delightful characters who, as the author notes, are usually left out of fantasy tales. The link is in his thread (I think). #writingcommunity #speclist #fantasy

Today is National Shelter Pet Day! These lovely girls all came from shelters and they enriched our lives beyond measure. #dogsofbluesky #petsofbluesky #nationalshelterpetday

Brindle coated pit bull dog with some gray around her snout and a white patch on her belly, smiling a big smile, wearing a bandanna with pink hearts, and walking toward the camera.

A small, fluffy white dog with one brown ear sitting in the grass and smiling a big happy dog smile.

A tri-color German shepherd dog (brown, tan, and black fur) laying down on a burgundy Persian carpet with a big smile on her face and two of her toys. A brightly colored orange stuffed animal with white paws is under the dog's paws and a blue and green tennis ball is in front of her.

What in the actual f***????!!?!?!?

Jenna Rain H M @jennarainhm.bsky.social · 30/04/2025

True. I don't think they even pretend very hard, though. I guess I was referring to the Trump regime, which shows its true colors by hiring blatant antisemites, not so much congressional Republicans.

Jenna Rain H M @jennarainhm.bsky.social · 30/04/2025

Well, I mean there's that, and there's also the fact that Sebastian Gorka and Elon Musk are part of the regime. And Trump's own antisemitic screeds.

Jenna Rain H M @jennarainhm.bsky.social · 30/04/2025
