South Texas game cam catches a raccoon riding a javelina (Dicotyles tajacu). The deer feeder corn attracts a lot of other species, but maybe we should worry about them all teaming up against us? (📷: Jeff Davis, TAMU-Kingsville alumni forum)
On a black and white game cam, three javelinas are browsing corn while a raccoon sits on one of their backs. The lighting produces laser-eyes in the raccoon, who is secretly one of the X-Men.A raccoon knight on a javelina steed. "Onward, Pigasus! Let us show them the meaning of haste". Motion blurred, black and white game cam shot.

I get that the news cycle is packed right now, but I just heard from a colleague at the Smithsonian that this is fully a GIANT SQUID BEING EATEN BY A SPERM WHALE and it’s possibly the first ever confirmed video according to a friend at NOAA 10 YEAR OLD ME IS LOSING HER MIND (a thread 🧵)

I know Buffy isn’t your thing, but Spike is my favorite redemption arc of all time. (NB: anything past halfway through S6 doesn’t exist. By then the writers had accidentally redeemed him to the point that they then had to commit character assassination to demonstrate that he still needed redemption)

Happy World Pangolin Day! Last month I finally met my first, and forever favorite, at the legendary Carnivore and Pangolin Conservation Center (Cúc Phương National Park, Vietnam). Lost front claws means he is destined to sniff sniff sniff his way into the hearts of all visitors. #WorldPangolinDay
A critically endangered Sunda pangolin (_Manis javanica_) on an endless quest for ants.Still just searching for ants, but I choose to believe we were having a moment.

If you see this, quote with flowers from your gallery (the parasitic _Cistanche tubulosa_ in Qatar)
Emerging from the sand, two desert hyacinths with yellow flowers but no green to be seen, as they steal nutrients from a host plants’ roots.
