Forget the cookie-cutter! We're learning there's no one-size-fits-all answer to what a Marbled Murrelet nest stand looks like. Keeps things interesting, right? 😉 #Conservation #MarbledMurrelet #DisturbanceEcology Photos courtesy of Cassidy Ruge

Absolutely superb and important piece by Professors @stevelevitsky.bsky.social and @ryanenos.bsky.social The only way to fight authoritarianism is to fight together. Strongest institutions in the front. www.thecrimson.com/article/2025...

We must learn from the past. We cannot remain silent in the face of authoritarian attacks on our peers, even if they have not yet come for us.

“For the Karuk Tribe, Cal Fire will no longer hold regulatory or oversight authority over the burns and will instead act as a partner and consultant. The previous arrangement essentially amounted to one nation telling another nation what to do on its land — a violation of sovereignty.”

Appreciate Dartmouth for highlighting our recent work! Recognizing Indigenous rights in our environmental data is not only good for the communities whom the data pertains to, but also produces better science that is grounded in the expertise of the communities that steward these data relations.

Not even the mountain of emails I'm still digging my way out of could take away from the incredible week in Costa Rica at the Pacific Seabird Group and Waterbird Society joint meeting. Next up...the joint ORTWS and OSAF meeting. Then some serious focus time on writing, analysis (and weaving).
