Real talk. I needed a roll of bubble wrap for lab. So I ordered one. Apparently I did not interpret the size correctly because this was comically large. And they shipped 2. I returned them.

I continue to battle the rat snake eating my chicken’s eggs. Today it had one clearly in its belly. I tossed the snake across the yard and into the woods. Yesterday it did not manage to swallow the egg. I caught it in the act.

A few years ago I brought a grill to campus. Every once in a while I declare a “dog day” and we do a cookout. This is the type of chaos I bring to my department.

My day is made. Someone threw a hot dog into my lecture. Every year I talk about microbes that survive on dissolved organic matter and how it just diffuses to them and how that would be like me living off of the hot dogs that float into my room. It took 10 years but one finally did!!! 🤣

The grad students decided that our party Santa should get voted on. All faculty were nominated. Then things started escalating…..these are now all over campus. (The one in the middle is our dean, I voted for him!)
