A dark-haired woman in a polka dot dress and a dark blazer and red “comfortable” shoes and a handbag or purse slug around her shoulder (hair is messy bun) stands in the middle of a New York street, blocking a large armoured vehicle. The grill of the vehicle is so tall that it dwarfs the woman in height as the front of the vehicle juts out menacingly close to her. It is a still shot from a video and although the screen grab is a little difficult to see, she did give the tank driver the middle finger as she yelled at ICE and in later videos, got into a tussle with the agents. Along the top of the screen are the words, “ICE RAIDS IN NYC” with an ice cube and a red siren emoji. This was 1 of 8 posts in a series and had 306 likes at the time of the screen capture (although I’m sure the video has a lot more now)!

There was a large police presence, which isn't unusual for Calgary protests, but there were a lot of areas, including sidewalks, closed to pedestrians, with the cops on horseback hanging around nearby (also not unusual - the CPS loves bringing in their horses to break up protests). #G7

A line of police with bicycles lined up in front of them like shields, stare at protesters while blocking them from marching any further down the street southbound, forcing the protest back towards City Hall. All are dressed in black with various gear including masks, helmets, and goggles, while one oficer holds a video camera, with a large microphone pointed at the protesters. Another walks behind the line with some type of long gun with yellow markings. Facing the police is one person with a yellow vest and a camera, wearing a body camera as well, and a mask and looking away from the police. Another person in a yellow vest, wearing a white mask and dressed in a red hoodie and jeans, is facing the police and writing something on a notepad. Palestinian flags can be seen in the background.

Just left the candidate debate for Calgary Centre. It was a full house and there was a large overflow crowd outside listening via loudspeakers. I didn't get there early enough to secure a seat inside.

Someone I know and have as a friend on Facebook posted misinformation on Facebook and I tried to comment on it with the Snopes fact check link. But no, Facebook is blocking Snopes links under their Canadian news link ban.
