Leafs were up 3-0 with shots 8-2 when I got in from ball hockey. "Leafs are best when Jeff is walking" theory in full force. Thinking of livestreaming myself walking from SBA to somewhere in my neighbourhood instead of watching the game at some point

Sumrall’s ability to inspire players goes beyond being a good motivator. It gives him a buy-in that, these days, can be harder to get when rosters fluctuate so much and players come and go more than ever before. Sumrall’s teams play with an edge and a physicality one might expect from a former SEC middle linebacker. His mantra: Coach ‘em hard. Love ‘em hard to become their best, and challenge them daily.

Sumrall says one of the most misguided things he hears is the lament that “kids have changed.”

He disagrees.

The good players, he believes, still want to be coached. The difference is that kids may wonder if they can trust this person because now they probably have less people they think they can trust.

“When you’re relationship-driven, and guys know that you genuinely care about their well-being and their growth, you build a rapport that allows you to coach them however you need to,” Sumrall said. “Then, you have their trust.”

I think being aware of the pulse, especially on the modern internet, is pretty common. Paricipating with pseudonyms probably much less so. And a traditional message board still running the pulse of a mainstream topic, near impossible

Yeah there's still a decent contingent there. Good for them, the internet needs more communities like that, though the idea in the thread I saw that they're the tastemakers of the hockey world and the Toronto media and fanbase gets its talking point from threads on the Leafs board is so funny

I tend to take the hyper-public approach with all my posting. Only exception is Reddit, where my name just appearing in a thread would cause arguments so eventually I just went to a pseudonym a few years ago (mostly to talk about other hobbies) and it's been so much more peaceful.

Slow first few mins for the Leafs but ramped up after that. Cowan looks great out there for a second consecutive night. TOR controlling the transition game, which NYI didn't have much of to spreak of outside of Schaefer. McKenna and Matthews with multiple high-quality setups. Lots to be happy with.

Around first the first few minutes if the ceremony isn’t too long but that’s it. Shouldn’t miss too many throughout the season though, and watching when I get home

I do think they probably ran his texts through an LLM and it hallucinated crimes. That’s scary and bad and it’s funny they got caught, but imagine how many other times this happens on a day to day basis against people with no rights, let alone the ability to publicly humiliate the AI prosecutor.
