There’s no such thing as a backup in fantasy. It’s just a second QB and TE. Since we start significantly more WRs and RBs, it’s way more important to load your bench with those guys. But you mention 14 teams, this advice is not for deep leagues like those

No, I like 8. But it isn't based on teams. I'd say the equation is anywhere from .75 to 1 bench spot for every starting skill position (non Kicker or D). So for 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, and 1FLEX, that's 8 starters. So this would be 6 to 8 bench spots is best

I did not see the same. Nothing from the head coach on White being involved more, plus it’s a different situation from a team standpoint. Denver is decent. Vegas isn’t.
