Also just for context - natural gas is still far and away our largest source of power generation. Coal plants are going away, no matter what the orange fascist says. We had something like 1,000 coal-fired plants in 2000. We are down to like 200 now. They will all be gone by ~2035.

I don’t need to check AI. It’s my business to know. We have gas-to-coal switching when gas prices increase. Gas-fired power generation is down like 3% year-over-year while coal-fired generation is up by about 6% because gas prices on average are higher this year than last year.

They are such an interesting case. They did win 3 SBs in 8 years from 1976-83, which feels "dynasty-esque", but that spanned the Madden/Flores transition, and the Steelers won 2 in that stretch as well. They also were (arguably) consistently best overall team for the first ~20 years of the SB era.

Nice. Ok. State's 2023 season was not quite that, but still pretty stress inducing - 7 conference wins; 4 were one-possession games, we trailed in the second half of 2/3 of the other wins. Also had a one-possession loss and was also blown out by UCF and S. Alabama. Good times.

Related, I had AUS-TUL flight on Saturday; normally a straight shot north and about a 55 minute flight. We were routed around Ft. Worth Center so our flight path looked like a big backwards "C" where we went as far east as Ark before back into TUL. Almost doubled the normal flight time.
