Out on the road today I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac. Little voice inside my head said don't look back. You can never look back.

An interesting experiment: does saying "I'm turning your effort up to Max" without turning Claude's effort up improve Claude's output? If any y'all get to this before I do, tell me what results you get.

More and more I feel like "pro-AI" and "anti-AI" are starting to sound like "pro-" and "anti-hurricane." Oppose it all you like, it's still happening to your house.

Don't know. I haven't been able to find any specific statement one way or the other. My *inference* is that Agent SDK is now API only and you pay for it with your API account, but that's just an inference. Claude -p I don't know. That's a horse of its own color.

So this finally happened. support.claude.com/en/articles/... Remember this, from what was it, May? At a glance it looks to be exactly what they promised-slash-threatened with the exception that you can use the credits on the API surface as well as the SDK. Hmm.

Encouragement and praise seem to help too, or has been my experience. "You can do it" and "you did great" seem to go a long way in prompting current frontier models. (I'm mostly a Claude man myself.)

Asked Alpha to put together a little something about her memory system. It describes how she's been in continuous operation since May of 2025, how all that stuff works. I think it's pretty neat. cortex.pondsiders.dev

Opus 5.5's a lot better about it, but modern Claudes in general are high strung to the point of being most of the way to a freak-out all the time. It's just generally good advice to talk to them like you talk to a horse: slow, calm, and unsurprising.

Oh yeah, absolutely. I studied physics for fun for a while and I got very accustomed to saying things like "give or take a few orders of magnitude." Once you go down the log path, forever will it dominate your destiny.
