Heads up Jeffco: A CDOT project coming up will cause about 30-minute delays during extended weekend I-70 closures to complete critical bridge repairs. The closures will run Sept. 18-22 & Sept. 25-29. During the closures, I-70 traffic will be routed to Kipling. Details here: bit.ly/4yBoBid

Sept. 10 marked one year since the shooting at Evergreen High School. We honor the two students who were seriously injured and recognize the strength and courage they and their families have shown throughout their recovery. The Jeffco Board of Commissioners stands with the Evergreen HS community.

Every year on Aug. 31, International Overdose Awareness Day unites people around the world in taking action on overdose. Overdose continues to impact every community, even though it’s preventable. Earlier this month, the Jeffco Board of Commissioners proclaimed Aug. 31 as Overdose Awareness Day.

The Ponderosa Mountain Pine Beetle Task Force was created by Gov. Polis in response to a mountain pine beetle outbreak. Last week's meeting was held at the Jeffco Administration & Courts Facility. Commissioner Lesley Dahlkemper was appointed as a member of the task force & is a regular participant.

After a remarkable 32 years working in public libraries, including 14 with Jeffco Public Libraries, Donna Walker is retiring from her role as Executive Director on Sept. 5. Her leadership and commitment to public service have made a lasting impact on our libraries and the communities we serve.
