It will descend into bitter aggression once we get to the business end of the Welsh Shield.

This is unusually perceptive from you. We also probably need Tandy to ditch Sherratt.

Important that, in rightly criticising Hawkins, we don't lose sight of the fact that Ben Thomas is indeed rubbish.

I think you can make an argument that the disadvantaged and vulnerable fared worse after the 2010 / 2015 elections than after 1979 / 1983. Cameron just casually broke things.

Best of luck, it's not worked out brilliantly up here.

In fairness, they seem to hate women too.

I think there's a risk that the left dislikes Thatcher too much, and Cameron not enough.

I know there are some pretty awful political parties around, but the Greens are now furthest down the sewer.

Only 9 points against Llanelli and Zebre. Crisis club Cardiff?

I take your point, but I quite like schools not burning.

I still think there must be decent people who joined for environmental / climate concerns and now find themselves in a complete madhouse with the haters of Jews and women. There should be room for a sane green party in our politics.

How the Greens need a Kinnock style leader to root out the crackpots. Think that ship has sailed though, they're utterly lost.

Brilliant speech.

Brian Moore once said something like he got on really well with David Sole, even after he started speaking with a Scottish accent.

But it does allow the Irish and English boys to get along so well on the Lions tours. That's nice to see.

They need a Dave Reddin figure actively working against them from the centre.

I was thinking about the difference between the collapse of Irish rugby, and our own problems. I think it boils down to the fact that their demise is really funny.

Excellent point. You could be Stephen Jones.

Substitute the Ospreys for the Cardiff Blues and that's my view too. Watch us, take a passing interest in Welsh derbies, and completely ignore the rest. This league is not a fixable product.

Impressive, and it's hard to think of a team in any sport that's been so dominant. Maybe Pep's Man City?

Man City, and now Leinster. Terrible weekend for fans of financial doping.

That Llanelli pack does have huge comic potential so tempted to watch a bit.

Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
I am constantly surprised that people watch URC games not involving their team. I could just about muster interest for a Welsh derby, I suppose, but only to take the piss out of both teams.

Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
It's a very frustrating misquote. He actually lectured that top flight rugby was never played at Sardis Road.

Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
It's lucky that the Blues are lovingly protected by the WRU, as they won't win their own shield.
030
Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
I'd imagine the non Welsh derbies are a very tough sell to audiences. The Shield is all that matters in the URC.

Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
Ospreys and Abi's Blues have the potential for top 8. But neither of us have the depth to deal with injuries so need a fair chunk of luck too.
011
Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
I do feel sorry for them, and I'd normally want Abi and Dave's favourite team to lose, but that has to be the weakest Llanelli team in their long and mediocre history.
100
Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
It's a laughably weak side, but should beat Llanelli easily enough.

Proper impressive MP is Swansea West's Mr Bell.

Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
We'll walk the URC now we're back in Swansea, and I'm a lot less invested in the success of the WRU team than in times past. Pretty sure my good mood will continue forever.

Heard he couldn't resist the cartoon jolly roger shirt. Thought it was really cool.

Glam staying up, St Helen's redevelopment ongoing, Swans top of the league, Bonymaen bowls rampant... Worried I'm dead and this is heaven.

How about we give you north Wales and call it quits?
000
Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
This is meaningless though? Different bits of Wales have different needs; Swansea needs a different development strategy to Welshpool. The idea that Wales is somehow homogeneous just leads to centralisation on Cardiff.

Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Yes, I admit it's my first job in pro rugby and I've got a lot to learn. So far so good though.
130
Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
In that context, Cardiff's 150 history looks a massive failure.
110
Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Exactly. And it's important for the Scarlets fan base to believe in these 'future seasons'.
010
Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
The modern fan demands instant success and can't comprehend that Davies & Peel are set on delivering something quite different.
120
Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
I think many people are sympathetic to the aims of the Bill, but see from elsewhere that such legislation (however well framed) leads to significant problems. The focus for now should be on improvements to social and palliative care.
000
Jeff Ace @jefface.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
I don't understand the division of roles between Peel and Nigel Davies. But it does seem to be working very satisfactorily.

Swansea; greatest sporting city on earth. Bonymaen; best part of Swansea.

Notable that it talks of an inhabitable strip of land between Chepstow and St David's. Wales has remained completely unchanged.
