It is... but the author is talking about hand-painted signs, not necessarily sign painting or hand lettering. These, and the one with Lobster, were referred to as "corporate murals." Pretty interesting.

"I guess it all goes somewhere, you know that" Reading the journal post about Dual Casual by Gen Ramírez reminded me of that line from Childish Gambino's "Not Going Back." 10 years in the making, and the results speak for themselves 👀 www.futurefonts.xyz/dualtype/dua... #typography #fontfeed

A professional would just search for "Didot," or as you mention "Baskerville"... and Aldine shows up right there Adobe does plenty of stuff wrong, but I don't think having silly tags is one. Who cares 😂

This page in the 2nd Edition of Thinking With Type showed variations between Garamond revisions in different time periods. It would be interesting to learn of similarly affected typefaces. Any common threads, like trends or technology, that affected fonts across the board in a similar fashion?
Page 40 from Thinking With Type by Ellen Lupton. The page shows revisions of the typeface Garamond and the differences of the 1930s, 70s, 80s, and 2000s versions.
