Small & independent presses are publishers that function on a smaller scale than traditional publishing houses and imprints. They publish less books per year, have limited resources compared to Big 5 publishers, and often focus on specialized or niche genres/publications. Check these presses out ⬇️
A forest green promotional graphic displaying a search results window where the search inquiry says, “What is a small press?” The description of a small press is as follows: “Small and independent presses are publishers that function on a smaller scale than traditional publishing houses and imprints. They publish less books per year, have limited resources compared to Big 5 publishers, and often focus on specialized or niche genres/publications. While traditional publishers can have more of a commercial focus, small presses often take chances on more unusual, diverse perspectives and retain more creative control over what they choose to publish.”
