Glad the guy who pays attention to his great ballrooms drapes spent more time picking an awesome name for the war than how to keep the straights of Hormuz open

I don’t think it’s fraud, Trump has made a cabinet in his image. This is the equivalent of admiring the ballroom drapes during a raging war. Hegeseth thinks it cool they give soldiers luxury food right before sending them to war, and made sure this detail was accounted for but not the straights

There is now something deeply unsettling about the people who show up to these to cheer on his fantastical lies

If Iran can keep the straights closed 3 more weeks I wouldn’t want to be an ultra wealth person sitting on a powder keg of starving vassals, I think we’re going to see a ton of gulf streams heading to Paris and Moscow soon

The choke point isn’t the oil going out of the straights, it’s the food and supplies coming in. The gulf states are essentially islands with not major overland supply routes, 80-90% of their foot comes through the straights. Look how fast Yeman descended into famine after blockade

Because they are freaking out, we are now trying to hastily put together a ground force. Where are we going to invade from, under fire and with no surprise? It’s a race against the clock now, can Iran bring the gulf states to their knees before we can stop them and we’re way behind the 8 ball

@kairyssdal.bsky.social it’s going to get worse. Everyone is focused on the oil not going out of the straights but the gulf states import 80-90% of their food through the straights. Iran’s plan is to starve THEM into regime change. It didn’t take long for the Yeman blockade to cause famine

Everyone is focused on the oil going through the straights (or not going) but the gulf states import 80% or more of their food by Sea. Iran’s plan is to starve the gulf states into regime change and now we are trying to put together a hasty ground invasion under fire without surprise to prevent it

They millionaire will probably still be able to fly in their Waygu steaks while the thralls starve. It doesn’t take long, look what happened in Yeman. In a month I think we’ll see more regime change in the gulf states than in Iran

Let them pile in, UAE will be on fire in a month because no food is getting in

It’s pretty clear this is Iran’s strategy and it’s a product of no ground threat. The first things they hit were THAAD, early warning systems, bases, desalination. This is why the gulf states are freaking out
000
jdswan.bsky.social @jdswan.bsky.social · 05/03/2026
@joshtpm.bsky.social I think everyone is missing the big issues, all these gulf states are essentially island with little link to the world other than ports, they will be starving in a month and it very likely we see regime change there before Iran. Same as happens to Yeman

They are going to take millions of dollars of weapons and occupy a 10km strip of Northern Iran and then fight each other and Turkey

I think it’s going to remake the Middle East but not in the way he thinks once the gulf states start staving if the straights are closed more than a month

Syria just pushed them out of territory a couple of weeks ago and the Kurds released 15,000 ISIS captives, no way in hell they are going to decamp to be Israeli proxy forces

I think this is the same reason the Supreme Court has tip toed around some issues, Robert’s is more worried about Trump saying “fuck you enforce it” than faith to the constitution

Don’t worry Kurds, I know Syria is currently pushing you out of territory but you can leave your home defenseless to act as a ground force to take over a country of 90m is a hell of a pitch

We are in grave danger. We’ve never looked weaker to the world, this is a panic move. I seriously think we will see regime change in one of the gulf states before we see it in Iran.

jdswan.bsky.social @jdswan.bsky.social · 02/03/2026
We’ve basically cut off all traditional allies to woo the gulf states so they will bribe Trump with trinkets And then started a regional war. Now we are abandoning them to their fate. I’m fine with it but at this point regime change is more likely in Qatar of Bahrain than Iran.

George W. Bush may think that a war against Iraq is the solution to our problems, but the reality is, it will only serve to create far more.

I mean I get it, in some exceptional cases the rhythm section can be the main draw, but not everyone is Tito Puente or Ron Carter, if you want to do that start your own band. Does anyone remember the Ginger Baker Air Force? (Have to admit they did have a coupe of bangers though)

When I was in a band the rhythm duo pissed me off to no end. Don’t going some meandering bass solo in the middle of a 3 min pop song, stay in the fucking pocket. No drummer, you can’t come out from behind your kit and rap on a song. Some tasks are unheralded but necessary, deal with it.

This kind of snark really pisses me off. No matter how many networks they take over I don’t think they will appreciably grow right wing sentiment in the country. In the end these networks will all cannibalize each other. It’s not like Newsmax has made things worse.
