I think Alisaie would probably be Johnathan’s best buddy. Between events like the lead up through Ghimlyt or their coffee break at the Last Stand, I could see their jokes and antics feeding off of each other to the point of Alphinaud and @azuresage.bsky.social rolling their eyes at them. 😅

Never say “unable to return home”. He’d probably do what he always does. Talk to the Scions and explain what he knows, what he remembers. Then start helping folks and giving Meteor a run for his money in the WoL business until he figures out what happened and a path home or into a new life.

Politics and political strategy. He can be a statesman if he knows the topic and everyone is attending in good faith. However, you start adding duplicity and political chicanery, he’s out of his league. He’s very “play it like I see it.”

After reading people’s opinions on the Crystal Tower raids: One of the most epic scenes in all of FFXIV is when you hear Shattered, the CT battle theme, come blaring through the speakers and there’s your WoL, running alongside the Crystal Exarch, climbing the tower as fast as they can go.

I think he’d be an isekai. Yanked as a Viera Paladin into Hyrule, probably dueling it out with Link until they realize they’re on the same side, then utilizing their best traits to defeat whatever evil scheme Ganon is working on next before being beamed back to Eorzea. 😅
