JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Habs winning a checking game with strong D and Goaltending, and getting the offense from the bottom 6 and Carrier…is good, cause these are the points that are hard earned when the stars aren’t getting the goals. 0161

JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 30/09/2026What a stupid question by Cuthbert “is it surprising that McKenna isn’t on the PP and the new guy Marchenko is?” Really??? 160
JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Xhekaj could have knocked McKenna into the 4th row but didn’t choose violence. Took the puck. 0150

JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 29/09/2026It’s Game Night!!! Habs are back baby and the quest for the Cup begins in Toronto. Let’s go boys, let’s get this started with a big game tonight vs the Leafs. #GoHabsGo #DriveFor25 0111
JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Interesting comment from Bill Guerin on Spittin Chicklets today. He mentioned that the GM’s communicate a couple times throughout the season updates on players available, or things they are interested in for their team. One of those times is after camp. I’d be interested in knowing Kent’s message. 140
JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I’m more excited to see if Monty and Engstrom do well and allows them to get opportunities elsewhere bringing a return back to the Habs while then seeing Reinbacher and Fowler with the club. 170
JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Marchenko and Knies are players Hughes has been connected to, but we know the man is always working the phones and is in touch with GM’s across the league. There are other options, and Kent’s looking at those to help his team. Not going to sacrifice the core or future for the sake of a trade. 0130
JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Hughes wasn’t taking on extra players to help Columbus, so we can see where this fell apart. Good on Kent. We want a hockey trade, not taking on players and limiting our players from playing…there is already a log jam, that would just be a step backwards. 3191

JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Ironic the Knies deal that was 3:01 after the Trade Deadline Line becomes the trade for Marchenko. It’s different than the Radulov walk away, but still feels the same as Habs were used as bait/leverage for a trade and sign. 020
JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Waddell getting Knies brings in an American player that will be $5.5 million cheaper than Marchenko and allows them to work on keeping players in Columbus. 160
JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Knies for Marchenko is a sideways move by Toronto, they get an older and more expensive version of Knies…I don’t get it. 260

JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Reinbacher, Fowler and Beck being waiver exempt makes sense, but i think it’s only a matter of time and we will see Reinbacher and Fowler up after getting games and if moves are made. I do say this. A Hutson and Carrier pairing is not ideal for the team, too small. 030

JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Will be interesting to see what Hughes/MSL do for cuts. Critics think cap plays with who we keep/send down, but it’s also been said Kent/MSL made hard decisions last year with Laine cap sitting there and not playing, and scratching Gallagher. Decisions need to be beneficial for the team, not cap. 070
JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Good chatter on Jeff Marek’s podcast “The Sheet” with him and his guests saying they wouldn’t be surprised if the Habs were to sign Kucherov next summer as a UFA due to the Gold Star and Russian connections, plus the cap space the Habs have. Very interesting. 010

JD1973 @jd1973.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Montreal has players pushing down the door, not knocking on it. Florian/Reinbacher are ready. Engstrom/Beck are NHL ready. There aren’t enough spots, moves need to happen. People won’t like it, but Bolduc/Guhle + might land Marchenko too. Age/Money makes sense. Not all will be here in the end. 3160
