JC Strzalka-Steil @jcstrzalkasteil.bsky.social · 13/08/2026On July 9, 1864, Union forces under Gen. Lew Wallace made a pivotal stand along the Monocacy River. With only 6600 troops, they had to hold off 14000 Confederates to allow reinforcements to reach Washington. Union soldiers endured 5 brutal assaults that day before falling back, the Capital secured. 010

We have the duty to uphold those freedoms and values for each and every one of us. It is the challenge entrusted to us as Americans. Conservatism is a hypocritical, anti-American movement, and the only way to defend American values and freedom is to defeat it. 020

JC Strzalka-Steil @jcstrzalkasteil.bsky.social · 14/06/2026Fort Union was arguably the most important US fort in the Southwest. Why? Because in addition to being the only fort for 100s of miles around, it was home to the depot that supplied 46 other forts. That made Fort Union NM a busy and vital place on the Santa Fe Trail for soldiers and civilians alike 010
JC Strzalka-Steil @jcstrzalkasteil.bsky.social · 14/06/2026Located on the Santa Fe Trail, Pecos NHP is home to many important sites.
