HAMMER2 running on OpenBSD: mount, PFS, snapshots, lz4 compression and fsck, WITNESS enabled. First came the import of the fs and its tools, now it's hunting lock order reversals. Still a TODO list, but it's usable. #OpenBSD

I ported enough of NetBSD's armv7 MP code to OpenBSD to do a 'make -j4 build' on my DM250X. It brings a full system compilation from ~5.1 days to ~3.5. Compiling LLVM is still multiple days :(

I have lost all enthusiasm for reading about new software projects, especially dealing with vintage computing. What would have sounded amazing a year or two ago and made me want to engage with the author, I now just assume was something AI spit out and feels hollow and boring so I skim past it.

My backup strategy is restic to rsync.net hourly/daily/weekly depending on the system, retaining a bunch of snapshots Once a month, I manually run a script that fetches the latest backups from rsync.net to a portable disk, imports database dumps to a fresh mariadbd and runs some stored queries

OpenBSD console showing Bluetooth keyboard working. sysctl shows OpenBSD 7.9-beta GENERIC.MP kernel. dmesg shows "btkbd0 at btlehid0 reportid 1: 8 variable keys, 6 key codes" and "wskbd1 at btkbd0 mux 1". wsconsctl shows keyboard1.type=bluetooth with US encoding. All commands typed on a Logitech MX Keys Mini connected via BLE.

I sent a classified letter to House and Senate colleagues about a secret interpretation of surveillance law that every American should be concerned about. Representative Massie is right. The Constitution requires EVERY member to vote against a clean reauthorization.
