I've got a bit of a different approach. I get together once a week with some guys I've known forever and jam. For about 4 hours my head is in the music and we get to collectively abandon of the lunacy we live with. Other than that my GSD keeps me sane.

Get yourself an old Mackie 24x8. Still use mine in my edit bay. You can find them for around $800 or less! Great way to source various devices. I use the old ADATS as ADC only to a DAW PC running Nuendo for multi tracking

And here is the proof of select time management by an employer to curtail having to offer benefits. Although I worked 4 days doing their social media and advertising on the clock. As a w2 employee less than 40 hours keeps me off the medical benefits full time employees would have.
