This is why I still love baseball. Even after all the rule changes... it's still the game that ends on its own terms, no clock to save you, just a final play that will always hinge on a player's triumph or mistake, whether that comes at the top of the 9th or the bottom of the 19th.

Corporate media are not to be trusted. They were complying in advance even before the election: See, for example, WaPo's canceled endorsement of Kamala. And now, with Colbert's firing (coming the same day as the defunding of CPB) free speech in the United States is IMPERILED.

@gavinnewsom.bsky.social , any comment? I'm not applying a litmus test. It's important to remember that trans rights, and LGBTQIA+ rights in general, are not negotiable. If we as Americans cannot come together on this, at least as Democrats we should.

No, I shall not condemn this. At least not until my fellow citizens condemn the state violence that lead to this.

In Texas, a dozen people in tactical gear pulled off a military-style ambush on an ICE detention center. They used fireworks as bait, waited until officers came out, and then opened fire-- 20 to 30 rounds. One local cop got shot in the neck. Ten people have already been arrested for the attempted murder of federal agents. One's still on the run.

Then a few days later...

In California, ICE storms a cannabis farm near Camarillo. The community shows up-- angry, fed up, throwing things. And then someone pulls a gun and fires. There's video of it. The FBI is now dangling a $50,000 reward for whoever turns the shooter in.

Now ask yourself-- why haven't you heard about this?

Why isn't this the lead story?

Because if you really knew what was happening out here-- how fed up people are, how fast the dam is cracking-- you might start to believe the truth:

This isn't a fringe. This is a spark.

And sparks catch.

They're afraid you'll realize that we outnumber them. That the cruelty isn't going unchallenged. That history is repeating-- but so is resistance.

And here's what history also says-- clearly, consistently:

Fascism doesn't fall by itself.

So you decide:
Are you going to look away, or are you going to stand where history remembers the brave stood?
