The Art Trail is only two weeks away — so now is the perfect time to start planning how you’ll get around. This year we’ve got 24 artists plus Tiphereth Print Studio across 12 venues, and whether you’re walking, cycling, hopping on the bus, or trying the rickshaw, here’s everything you need to make the most of your day (or two).

The annual Pentlands Open Studios Art Trail is nearly upon us and the excitement is building as final preparations are underway for our big weekend on the 15th and 16th August, 10am-4pm each day. The 2026 Art Trail takes in the villages of Balerno, Currie, Juniper Green and Colinton following the upper valley of the Water of Leith and is a beautiful walk at around 4 miles long but visitors can arrive by bike, bus and by car as well as on foot.

Twenty-five professional artists and makers will throw open their studios and exhibition venues across Balerno, Currie, Juniper Green and Colinton on 15–16 August for the annual Pentlands Open Studios Art Trail. Visitors are invited to meet the artists, watch work in progress and buy directly from the makers. The trail spans painting, ceramics, jewellery, printmaking, textiles and sculpture, with new pieces on show throughout the weekend.

The Pentlands Open Studios (POSt) Art Trail launched last summer to great acclaim with wonderful levels of community engagement. So, we are back this year (15/16th August) bigger and better with new artists joining our original line up plus new venues to ensure we keep our Art Trail fresh and stimulating for both returning and new visitors. The Pentland Open Studios (POSt) is delighted to announce that it will be adding a very special venue to its other eleven wonderful Art Trail venues this year –the big room at Tiphereth’s Hoyland House.
