It just so happens that Rockman Zero is my favorite setting in the whole Rockman franchise (it has very similar vibes to NieR games), but Axl is also my favorite Rockman character... so that's what I ended up doing lol. Part on how Tau ended up in the Source and how the last patch of Dawntrail will end for Pi's party!

Turns out that 3 whole years had already passed after the Scions left the First (making Tau 21). The life has been calm and rather uneventful. She would count each day, waiting for Pi to return, with her hands guiding the inked feather in the notebook completely on their own without her giving any thought to that, as if someone else was counting these days down as well. One day, Eo Sul asked Tau to go visit their old pixie friends at Il Mheg and pay respects to Axel Reed while at that (his gravestone was left at the outskirts of the region because he called that place his home). On the way there, Tau and Eo Sul met a queerly-dressed woman who also wanted to come visit Il Mheg, and so they led her there.
While Tau and Eo Sul were surrounded by curious pixies, a rift big enough for a Lalafell had opened right behind Tau and the pixies. The woman then proceeded to push Tau and nearby pixies into the rift.
“You should be safer that way”
And the rift closed soon after.
Pixies had surrounded Tau as she continued to fall through interdimensional passage in order to protect her body from disintegrating in the sea of aether. Whatever the fae folk was doing worked out, and Tau ended up in the Syrcus Trench with only her clothes tattered and a right eyeball halfway through disintegration process. The only pixie to reach the Source was Eo Sul, although they were in immense pain, with their aether slowly dispersing. Eo Sul, seeing how hurt Tau was and how she couldn’t bear to lose another friend, decided to fuse their remaining essence with Tau’s damaged eye. The spell they used had worked, Tau’s aether was no longer destabilized in any way, and her pixie friend was still alive, sharing her headspace and sprouting a beautiful flower from her right eye socket.

Tau would climb out of the trench and collapse on ground shortly after. She would later wake up inside Rising Stones, with Tataru nursing her back to health and making her new clothes. Later on, Tataru tells her what kind of place she is at and talking a bit about the fellow Scions that went their separate ways months ago after averting the world-ending crisis. Tau recognizes a few Warriors of Darkness, as well as Pi. She finally figures out that she is in the same dimension that Pi was from and asks Tataru to send him an invitation to the Rising Stones. And that’s how they reunite.
The party of 5 ask themselves where to go now, and Tataru suggests rejoining Warrior of Light for now as he seems to be ready for a new journey. Once Tau gets a new hammer for herself, and Reimro receives a second pistol that her friend Axel Reed used while he was still alive (she carried that one with her at all times. The first pistol is buried where his gravestone stands), the group sets off on their next adventure…

I am actually really loving what I am setting up for Pi's story in 8.0 currently. I rewored a few things and I am super happy with what I have at the moment! Text in the image + alt text! Continuation in replies! >>>

7.4 and 7.5 story revolves around Pi and his party coming from Tural to Thavnair together with Rewani, Tolon and Ajir. Pi’s old acquaintances Servatius Zephiros and Generosa Zephiros, as well as their bodyguard/guardian Nadezhda Atanya had also come to Thavnair for a short vacation away from all the Garlond Ironworks hassle.
There’s a big dinner early on where Pi’s party and Ajir’s party are present, together with Pi’s parents and Rewani’s mother. It’s slightly tense and awkward because of, well, what Rewani did to Piwantals’ younger son, with his own mother being on edge because she fears that could be brought up again somehow. The dinner ends early as Jikel Nikel, Pi’s uncle, barges in to tell Pi about Silverclaw. As it turns out, the island has been abandoned for some time. That meant, the island could now be sailed to relatively safely. Wishing to see his homeland to rekindle the sealed memories and close off that chapter of his life, Pi wanted to set out on an expedition. His friends (so Pi’s party, Ajir’s party and Ironworks employees on break) also decide to join, mostly to help out, but also to see new sights.
And so, a group of Pi’s acquaintances, Silverclaw survivors (whole four of them, the rest was in Thanalan at the time), willing sailors and a couple of Radiant Host members endorsed by Vrtra, make it to the island. It’s in a rough shape. Big buildings all around, most of which looked like summer villas, were all in different state of decay and damage. The rubbish created from destruction during the Final Days was still in the water around the claw-shaped shore of the island. However, a few Lalafellin buildings survived and the swamp towards the heart of the island appeared to be untouched.

Silverclaw’s recent residents appeared to be less wasteful of the land as the native Lalafells believed and judging from a few documents and audio recorders that were found in the abandoned buildings, it was a resort for a few accomplished retired Garlean officials. Some left after the death of Emperor Varis in attempt to earn a claim to the throne and those who had stayed had turned into blasphemies and during the Final Days and had consumed each other, explaining the strange absence of bodies in the settlement.
Pi did remember a few things despite the sorry state of his birth settlement, thanks to Jikel’s house, a part of which was still standing near the entrance to the swamp. Those memories were faint and appeared to be happy ones, but Pi was rather melancholic. Rewani was not too far from that place so he also heard Pi’s talk with his own uncle.
However, that talk didn’t last long as Jikel got concerned with the awful smell coming from deep within the swamp. Pi’s party and Ajir’s party decided to venture there. Unsurprisingly, the smell was coming from a giant nasty Morbol, draining the ground of its resources to grow bigger. However, those are not native to Silverclaw, and since there was only one it appeared to have gotten there very recently. Pi suspected something, especially from Tolon’s comments of the creature appearing to be in constant pain, but he didn’t want to think it could be true. Either way, both parties worked together to successfully take down the beast and free the swamp of the bad breath.

While Jikel Nikel prepares to lead an expedition into a different part of the swamp to see the surviving animal population of the island and others think what should they do with the Garlean housing, Pi experiences a painful sensation, accompanied by Eo Sul’s scream. It was so bad that he nearly collapsed. He couldn’t understand what it was, but he could just tell that something horrible was happening to his friends in the First. Pi ends up sending urgent letters to Y’shtola, asking if the former scions had gotten any closer to discovering how to use interdimensional key to travel to the First, and he didn’t get a response he hoped for. Pi later told his trusted companions about what was worrying him for a while and they honestly weren’t sure how to react. Marceau and O’nini at least seemed to be relieved that he wasn’t willing to leave without notice to fight in a war like how he did a month after Ala Mhigo’s liberation to avenge his birth family. However, Pi wasn’t in the good spirits to continue restoration of Silverclaw, so he left with his older brother, Ironworks acquaintances, and concerned duo of Tolon and Rewani.
7.4 and 7.5 is the last time Pi would be seen with his current core party for a while. They were very understanding and wanted their friend to take a break while they promised to work on the island with everyone else, making sure to have the place look the best it could by the time Pi is able to come back.
Ironworks acquittances also sail away towards Limsa Lominsa after Pi, Reimro, Rewani and Tolon arrive to Yedilhmad, wishing them good luck on any upcoming journeys.

After a few days, Pi receives a letter from none other than Tataru. She asks him to come to the Rising Stones to meet a Lalafellin lady that appears to know Pi by name. Pi thought it COULD be Tau, but in order to be in the Source she would’ve needed to find a clear passage from the First which didn’t appear to exist yet. Either way, he was intrigued and wanted to know what was up. Reimro, Tolon and Rewani end up joining him on the journey to Mor Dhona.
As it turned out, Tataru was indeed talking about Tau in the letter. She was there in the flesh and the adventurer that found her said she was clothed so it meant that he soul wasn’t separated from the body. Pi couldn’t believe his eyes, but he was overcoming with joy to see her back hale and whole. She appeared to be quieter than usual, however, and had a flower growing out of her right eye so Pi asked what even happened to her.

I have come up with an idea on how to get Tau into the Source if we don't go to the First using the key until 7.55. It's slightly clunky but it's possible to write into the lore and I think it would be pretty neat. But for now, the first wip of 2026, using a new brush. Has fun designing the new Tau!

Finally completed a digital art for once. It's been a while but coloring is honestly a meditative process for me. I forgot how good it feels. I actually made Pi's skin a bit darker to reflect the environment he was born in and he lived in for a long time. Hope it looks OK. #ffxiv #ff14 #ffxivart

Pi's eyes are very big, bright and soft, definitely. Pretty much the window into his own soul. He might be scarred and internally screaming more often than not, but at the core he's still a kind-hearted softie.

I have beaten Replicant. Not gonna lie, I weeped at the very end, somehow the last line ever spoken in the game struck a cord with me and reasonated a bit too much. And despite the amount of time wasters in the game, I think this one was the best I played this year (not counting patch 7.3 of FFXIV)

I don't imagine Pi as a main protagonist of an FF game because otherwise it would be a veeeery different experience to that of other FF games. Either way, I think his main Dawntrail look should be his signature outfit. That was when he was at his happiest, bravest and confident-est.

Started NieR:Replicant yesterday. Got flashbanged by Hazel and Gretel being the first bosses of the game. Also I thought I was naming my savefile at the start, not giving name to Brother Nier so now his name is Toska, oops. And Weiss gives off major Excalibur from Soul Eater vibes, I like them.
