I was astounded to read the other day that Texas, of all places, has a policy like this. I've long thought that this would go a long way toward resolving the affluent vs poor school district problem. I'm sure there would still be issues.

I've been reading the Onion for decades and enjoy every part of it but the Kelly cartoon. I've never found it even remotely amusing, just an unpleasant reminder of magat ideas I'm already sick of. There's no accounting for taste.

If it's meant as a liberal cartoonist's commentary on magat cartooning, I guess it really captures the thud. But I could find the real thing if I wanted that. Kelly makes Poes, at best, and Poes capture all points of view and none. Do you find Kelly as funny as the rest of the Onion?

It isn't a parody if it's indistinguishable from a sincere representation of the original. Show me in the cartoon where Kelly winks at the audience. He doesn't. Every element presents an unchallenged sincere magat belief. What's Kelly adding? Nothing. The Colbert Report had all kinds of tells.

I'm not objecting that I don't like his cartoons. I'm objecting that they don't achieve their goals. I'm objecting that his cartoon might as well be called "The Unadorned Magat Perspective". The rest of the Onion assumes that we are all familiar with the targets. Kelly seems to think we're not.

Satire is supposed to critique a person or their agenda by by showing its flaws. Kelly's cartoons are indistinguishable from what magats themselves produce. He's basically just echoing their talking points, not skewering them. I don't need him to repeat their views to me. He's not adding anything.

There's zero nuance in a Kelly cartoon, nothing oblique or symbolic, just absolutely literal quotes from shit I've read from magats. No magat would find these funny, but most magats would strongly agree with Kelly's apparent viewpoint. And let's be honest. There's no such thing as right wing art.

LLMs can't do any of those things. LLMs can't reduce their error rate to zero or anywhere close. We should never trust LLMs to conduct business on our behalf. That would collapse the economy, not transaction costs. Even if transaction costs went down, financial fees would continue to go up.

Not really. The 2nd Amendment was never meant to be an alternate to the electoral process. It's clearly meant as an adjunct to the Article 1, Section 8 federal responsibility of repelling invasion and suppressing rebellion. It's supposed to allow citizens to work *with* the federal troops.
