Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026Well hello Annecy… none too shabby for mid-autumn 010 1
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 26/09/2026Well another week on a 🚴 in a new part of 🇫🇷. Correze is a veritable treat, empty roads, beautiful villages, and wonderful food. 010 1
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 16/08/2026Usually I loathe impromptu signs taped to a window, but I’ll make an exception for these… 000 0
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 31/07/2026Another day, another flight flight delay, another airport breakfast. Le sigh. 000 0
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 26/07/2026A satisfying way to use up the last of the honey…. that’s a cappuccino in a honey jar 😁 000 0
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 05/07/2026my fave bit of this crazy trip… a 6km hike where we were joined for the duration by a deer and a dog, and they ran down the mountainside with us when we got on the bikes… 020 2
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 04/07/2026Well Georgia, you have been fab. Am now tucked in a fancy-pants hotel (former Soviet sanatorium) in Kazbegi, close to the Russian border, smiling at all amazing things we’ve experienced in the last few days. A little R&R, then home. 040 4
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 25/06/2026Cycling in the Armenian steppe is like cycling in a Windows XP background. And I’m here for it 120 2
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 22/06/2026Woop. Tbilisi, I am in you. 🇬🇪. Wandered out of our hotel in Sololaki, and into the most wonderful courtyard garden restaurant. Wonderful food, wine, and charm. Looking forward to our Caucasus adventures on a 🚲 040 4
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 23/05/2026if you’re of a certain vintage, with an interest in world affairs in the 80s, I’m sure this will spark some memories. 0204 20
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 19/05/2026So, if you were booking airline seats and saw this on the screen, would you then expect to be charged 2x 115CHF on checkout? And would you expect a customer service agent to simply repeat “all seat reservations are chargeable”? Really Swiss, you can be better than this. 101 1
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 19/04/2026Anyways. Now I’m getting custom-made cowboy hats from Kentucky in my feed. These are going to be harder to resist, because I’m a sucker for a fancy hat, and the dude making ‘em is kinda fun. Let’s see how this pans out. If you ever see me sporting this fetching number, you’ll know. 110 1
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 03/04/2026Popping out to pick up bread is a bit different this weekend… 010 1
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 29/03/2026doh. *uninterrupted* time. I could blamed the cats paws, but the error was mine! 120 2
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 29/03/2026The furball is looking forward to having more interrupted time with his staff! 120 2
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 29/03/2026Next year we’re only renting the chalet (self-catered) for a few weeks in the ski season. Once we’ve sold 4 weeks, we’re closing the diary.Easter is early next year for anyone attached to school timetables! Hit me up if that’s your thing. www.purealps.com 010 1
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 29/03/2026Here in the Grand Massif we’re having the best end of season conditions in years. It’s great to go out on a high! As the season winds down, so do we… Active semi-retirement beckons - I’ve finally made peace with the R word. More time for fun, bike adventures and gardening.Time is finite resource! 280 8
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 22/03/2026Back on the couch-to-5km wagon. I’ve done it before so I know it’s possible… but right now feels like climbing Everest. Still, good for my ticker and my head, so on we go. This is a repeat of week 2 day 3… getting in some extra steps before next week with the slow-ladies-running-crew ! #C25K 020 2
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 21/03/2026Airport reading, heading home. My mother has pulled off another Lazarus manoeuvre, so feeling much more chipper for the moment, but knowing it’s only a temporary state of affairs. 120 2
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 20/03/2026Show someone who absolutely rocks a hat (that isn’t Indiana Jones)…. The hat of joy! 020 2
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 15/03/2026Changeover done. This time I get be p*ssed off that guests have burned the wall by leaving *paper* atop the wood-burner (and didn’t let us know). But also relieved that the chalet didn’t burn down. See also fag butts in the garden and broken pingpong bats. The joys of a vacation rental business 🤯 001 1
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 05/03/2026two days 🎿⛷️ on the trot has beaten me… but sofa time with a book, a cat, and a spot of 1958 Miles Davis is more than acceptable for a Thursday afternoon. 020 2
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 03/03/2026Pretty much perfect conditions in the Grand Massif this morning. And now I have new ear worm… for the rest of the day I shall be humming “back in the high life again, all the doors that closed one time, will open up again”. Time to dig out some more old Steve Winwood tracks 120 2
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 25/02/2026It’s still school holidays here, so swerving the crowds up the mountain and enjoying a quiet walk along the disused railway line and over the river. It really is magical. 000 0
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 18/02/2026Eleven changeovers done, five to go… unless we get a mid March booking (weird it’s been so hard to shift - given the recent dumps, March is shaping up to be a cracker). Am knackered, but in a good way. Happy guests, happy Jayne. 000 0
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 07/02/2026New #shoeoftheday - rearloaders reinvented. They are A DREAM ! 000 0
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 05/02/2026It’s February. It’s glorious. But it’s way too warm. Just a decade ago when we first came here, there would have been a least a foot more snow. Whilst I still love the winter, it now brings such sorrow as the changing climate is writ large. 220 2
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 05/01/2026Hurrah for London friends going skiing! And wonderful warm restaurants when it’s -12 outside… 140 4
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 26/12/2025Not exactly a vintage white christmas year, but it beats the mizzle. And The Sidster and yours truly have been skiing. Am totally over this inversion now though, it can bugger off. 150 5
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 25/12/2025Went up mountain, had bacon butties for brunch. Cracking blue skies up above the inversion clouds that are making it cold and grey in the valley. second pic is inside the télécabine as we descend. Back to a movie on the tellybox with the Chonk and the husband. #lowkey #stressfree 020 2
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 23/12/2025Because I’m a bit nerdy, I track our elec €/use over time. It’s interesting to see when we got an EV, when prices went up in 2023 & 2024, and back down in 2025.The hot-tub is a major variable, and ofc the weather! Yes, this is how accountants have fun. 100 1
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 19/11/2025Eek. Looks like winter is being installed tomorrow and the quad bike & plough are temporarily out of action until a new fuel pump arrives…. But that aside, WHOOOP. Bring it on! 130 3
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 20/10/2025Spending time with my mum, sorting out her ipad storage issues, and stumbled across this gem. My maternal grandparents wedding photo, we think about 1919! 030 3
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 21/09/2025Home to the mountains and the pumpkin/squash harvest. 36 in total… Soup time. I love autumn. 020 2
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 19/09/2025In other news, today I am sharing the swimming pool with two frogs. After the initial surprise wore off, I have concluded I quite like the company. They’ve taken up residence in the filter traps. Not entirely sure sitting on chlorine tablets is ideal for them, but they seem quite happy! 020 2
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 07/09/2025Also a lovely bridge. Would go under it again. 10/10 because animals are involved. 010 1
Jayne Hilditch @jayne.eurosky.social · 27/08/2025You could try to find my favourite locksmith in the souk… I bought my first lock from him in 1998 - he’s still there! 110 1
