Many days are very hard. But every so often you get a day like the Utah Jazz have today. You get up, put on your pants, get to work a few minutes early, and just pick the other guy. Washington will pick one guy, then you pick the other guy. That's it! We should all get more days like that.

There is chart crime here, but I was fascinated by this data on people living paycheck-to-paycheck. The net/net here is that the number is up about 7% (give or take noise) over the last 24 months. That can't be good! You can dig into the data for your self here: www.pymnts.com/study_posts/...

You can see in this data from Carta that seed funding is starting to deteriorate for startups, catching up (catching down?) to the deterioration across the rest of the market. I would expect this trend to continue for awhile. It's a pretty tough market for startups right now.

This time-to-liquidity function over the last decade may not seem like much, but if you apply an inflation adjusted impact to IRR calculation to this, the impact on most venture funds is pretty substantial. It's a hard business. Has been for awhile.

5) Go Local: We are going to be valued local community members. Sponsors of the high school volleyball team. Community theatre wrap-party place. Come watch the game place. Book-it on Steroids. Lean into what made you great to begin with.

4) Pillage GenX Wallet: Lean HARD on nostalgia to reinvigorate a customer base who really wants to eat at Pizza Hut if we give them a reason. ET movie promotional glasses? Yep! Checkered table cloths? Tiffany-style lights? Sold! We are going to steal money from everyone 48 and over. 5/7
