Look at how tiny the adorable eastern screech owls are. This one is an educational ambassador because they were unreleaseable due to losing sight in one eye. #Birds #Owls #SuperbOwl #Photography

An eastern screech owl calmly perched on a gloved finger in front of a blurry green shrubby meadow. Its body is facing forward but its head is turned to the right. It has a grayish facial disc surround its large pale yellow eye, with a tiny backwards pointing tuft on either side of its head. The rest of its plumage is mottled tannish whites and dark browns.

The same owl looking forward this time, its tiny beak just showing through the feathers. Looking closely reveals one pupil is larger than the other, due to a previous injury.
