One large glass jar filled with a thick brown liquid (homemade stock). Next to it is a smaller jar that is about half full. Both are on a kitchen counter next to an induction hob and cabinet, and behind them are a package of cherry tomatoes and kitchen utensils.

Inspired by Tracy, I am making chicken/beef stock today.

Frozen block of onion discards, roast chicken carcass, and beef trimmings on a bright yellow pan.

Parsley, additional onion skins, and chopped vegetables(red onion, leek, bell peppers) filling a stockpot at least a third full. No liquid.

Same yellow pan from before now with very browned and roasted bones, trimmings, and vegetable cutoffs. It looks less than half the size.

Contents of stockpot with the yellow pan roasted bits added, along with enough water to cover the scraps.

CW: teeth, pet health. Spare a thought for my problematic fave today. Bordeaux the orangey is at the vet today for a cleaning and anywhere between 1 and all of his teeth are being removed. Hopefully this will help with his constant pain and horrendous bad breath.

I love your cats! 😻 What are their names? Champagne (buff and white) and Bordeaux (orange and white) are our newest family members. They're 6-year-old littermates and boy oh boy are they classic "no one can bully you but me" siblings. We adore them.

6 weeks after we lost our precious elder baby to kidney failure, we picked up these munchkins yesterday. They're already causing (managable) chaos and give me life. I present Champagne and Bordeaux, 6 year old orange and white tabbies from a local rescue.

1. 1/4 tablet from the blue prescription bottle. Use the pill cutter, it should have 1 half and 1 quarter. Use the pestle to ground the pill in the bowl.
2. 0.75ml liquid in the large blue canister in the bottle of the bowl.
3. Half can of food.
4. Top with 1 leveled scoop Epikitin and 2 Cosequin (open capsules and pour over food.
Mix and serve!
2nd meal:
Half can, 2 red scoops (the 1/8 t) of blue-topped container, this is the Miralax, top with 8-12 dental treats from the big container of Greenies in the under stairs closet.

3rd meal usually overnight: 1 more scoop Epikitin, 1 Potassium capsule poured over & mixed in.

Sounds amazing. Air fryer green beans and air fryer lightly-carmelized onions from last night's dinner. 100% recommend air frying veggies too.

An emotional day. Work, followed by taking Sapphire back to the vet for her blood pressure check. Vet says we should up the BP med dosage daily. Otherwise she's doing fine. I asked about end of life options, and almost immediately started bawling. I can't imagine life without her some day.

Today I witnessed what we think was a mini stroke in my ancient cat. She was disoriented near her food bowl, her eyes wouldn't react to light and were completely dilated, and her breathing was shallow. She turns 20 soon and I spent over an hour wailing and sobbing, not knowing if this was the end.
